Microgunner Posted May 4, 2014 Report Posted May 4, 2014 Picking up my SIG PM400 5.56 pistol this week and am looking for recommendations for a crazy lightweight red dot that will cowitness with standard height irons?
shibiwan Posted May 5, 2014 Report Posted May 5, 2014 (edited) good old Bushnell TRS25 with a medium height (0.83") riser for absolute co-witness, and 1" for lower 1/3 co-witness. You can get the entire thing (riser + RDS) for less than $100. It's a tubular sight so its easier to keep clean, unlike open reflex sights.... Edited May 5, 2014 by shibiwan
FaRKle! Posted May 5, 2014 Report Posted May 5, 2014 (edited) Not sure what your budget is, but it's hard to beat an Aimpoint Micro... Edited May 5, 2014 by FaRKle!
jtallen83 Posted May 5, 2014 Report Posted May 5, 2014 I went with the TRS-25 with riser for my PM400, the 1/3 co-witness. It went back for warranty work after failures in the cold weather, other than that it was a great red dot for the money. They are sending me a new one but I wont get it til June they say.

How are you liking that PM400?
jtallen83 Posted May 5, 2014 Report Posted May 5, 2014 How How are you liking that PM400? I just flat love it. Reliable, accurate, shoots everything from 45 to 77 grain. Like most Sigs the trigger is a bit heavy and of course the "brace" is not the ideal butt-stock but... we can't own SBR's in Iowa so it was my best option, I hardly notice now. I wouldn't be afraid to recommend it to my mother!
Robocop1051 Posted May 5, 2014 Report Posted May 5, 2014 Dammit all... just when I'm about to pull the trigger on a PM400, I see that PWS has rereleased the Mk110 pistol....
Microgunner Posted May 6, 2014 Author Report Posted May 6, 2014 I'm gonna stick the Tac-con 3MR trigger I bought awhile back in the new SIG. Short, light and fast shooting.
Microgunner Posted May 13, 2014 Author Report Posted May 13, 2014 I bought a Burris Fast Fire III and armored AR mount. This setup is small, lightweight and cowitnesses. Just what I was looking for.
98Z5V Posted May 15, 2014 Report Posted May 15, 2014 I can't believe how many times I've recommended PRIMARY ARMS For this exact topic. I just can't believe it. People just don't listen. <dontknow>

planeflyer21 Posted May 16, 2014 Report Posted May 16, 2014 Don't know where Tom is. Have you thought of trying Primary Arms for a red dot?

Microgunner Posted May 16, 2014 Author Report Posted May 16, 2014 Don't know where Tom is. Have you thought of trying Primary Arms for a red dot? No. They're so affordable I've never given them a second thought. Maybe I'll try one out one of these days.
blue109 Posted May 16, 2014 Report Posted May 16, 2014 (edited) I heard some folks really like them. wish someone with some experience would chime in. maybe tom needs another warning point for leaving fellow forum members in the dark on these PA red dots. not very friendly if you ask me. Rsquared Posted May 16, 2014 Report Posted May 16, 2014 You know, I've heard of this place called ............................ Hmm....what was the name of it now?
Microgunner Posted May 17, 2014 Author Report Posted May 17, 2014 (edited) Here's the Burris AR-F3 mounted, the Tac-Con 3MR trigger installed and Raptor charging handle in place.. The Burris Fast Fire III came with a cover with clear lenses to prevent damage to the sight. Cool. Edited May 17, 2014 by Microgunner
