Toolndie7 Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 (edited) I cant even imagine how that little girl feels http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/9-year-old-girl-accidentally-shoots-dead-gun-instructor-uzi-police-article-1.1917858 Edited August 27, 2014 by Toolndie7
blue109 Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 as someone who has fired an uzi, among other FA subguns, I wonder wtf they were thinking.
survivalshop Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 Tragic . I have shown all ages of people to fire ,all kinds of Full auto weapons & I have always been behind them & have in more than one occasion , had to grab & control the weapon . She will probably need counseling
shepp Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 Yea I feel very bad for her as for the instructor wtf was he thinking?!?
Robocop1051 Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 I did near the exact same thing at near the same age with an Ingram mac 11... minus the dead instructor... Probably the last time she ever pulls a trigger. That's too bad.
AdamO Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 That uhm.... that's just sad. Pure and simple. Nothing more to say. Wow...feel bad for everyone involved in this.
shibiwan Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 (edited) That kid's gonna need some intense therapy. Just sayin.... Edited August 27, 2014 by shibiwan
blue109 Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 I did near the exact same thing at near the same age with an Ingram mac 11.... I watched a pretty heavyset E6 confidently pick up a MAC10 9mm and attempt to "spray" a target without using the stock. climbed right up to the sky. he felt like an ass. good lesson for all of us.
planeflyer21 Posted August 28, 2014 Report Posted August 28, 2014 I feel horrible for the girl. Ours shot a Sten at an age younger than this girl...with me hanging onto it "just in case". Looking at the video, this was a neglident...not an accident.
shibiwan Posted August 28, 2014 Report Posted August 28, 2014 (edited) I guess the trainer is the biggest one at fault. He stood on the left side of the girl instead of to the rear right (where the gun is) of the shooter. When situated correctly, it's easy to reach forward and push the firearm away towards a safe direction. Edited August 28, 2014 by shibiwan
Rsquared Posted August 28, 2014 Report Posted August 28, 2014 I was thinking the same thing. Full auto, and a child of this age, you would think that you would brace yourself.......and be ready to brace them.....in case anything happened. It seems like a stupid accident to me. And that's why they're called accidents.....because someone let's their guard down. Even if not intentional......they let it down no less. Full auto weapons are extremely "fun" to play with. But there are limitations to everything...meaning the person behind the trigger. Once again......a senseless accident.
Dane Armory Posted August 28, 2014 Report Posted August 28, 2014 Saw this on Monday. Sad situation ! A series of bad calls starting with the parents thinking this would be a cool/fun thing to do. Most beginners start with 22 caliber hand guns or bolt action rifles not FA weapons. Second the Instructor. Should have started with 1rd then 3 rds the more. Third was the instructors position not behind her. This was his own fault, Darwin wins again. I feel sorry for the girl ! But the parents are responsible too.
LAR8Autoshucker Posted August 29, 2014 Report Posted August 29, 2014 I agree. Tragic accident that could have or should have been avoided. That poor girl will most likely be haunted by this for the rest of her life. Blame is on the parents but what kind of instructor flips it to full auto after a child only fire one round??? Then doesn't stand behind and brace the child??? My prayers are with her.
sketch Posted August 29, 2014 Report Posted August 29, 2014 She hit the trigger before she was ready I bet she had plenty of time on single shot or even a .22 before she had a hands on with an Uzi ? Bad accident fu news!
