Robocop1051 Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 http://criterionbarrels.com The latest addition to our growing family! For those of you who don't know about me, I have LOOOONG said that the Criterion (Fulton Arms "Titan") 16" Rifle length barrel is one of the best ideas for the .308 AR on the market. This is yet only one of many great, and well thought out, products. Criterion is hands down a top shelf company, and a MUST for any high end rifle. I'm very excited to see Criterion stepping out on their own, and double excited to see them utilize our community to get the word out on their products.
98Z5V Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 Maybe this will give us some leverage to get the 16" rifle-gas barrel produced with some regularity. Hell, I'd be in for two of them, right off the bat. The perfect barrel. <thumbsup>
Rsquared Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 You wouldn't have to twist my arm too much for one of those..
FaRKle! Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 Maybe a lightweight, rifle-gassed, 16"? I'd totally build another upper with that!
blue109 Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 I've really been wanting to swap my 18" select for a 16.
blue109 Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 ^ you should totally trade me your 12" tube for my 14" ;)
survivalshop Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 Their 16" & 20 " HB's have out performed my expectations.
StainTrain Posted January 12, 2015 Report Posted January 12, 2015 Welcome. Great Company, Great Products.

Matt.Cross Posted January 12, 2015 Report Posted January 12, 2015 Welcome to the forums, love your barrels!
george_995 Posted January 12, 2015 Report Posted January 12, 2015 Those of you running the 16" w/ rifle gas, do you see a necessity for a adj gas block? Or is this setup good to go without?
survivalshop Posted January 13, 2015 Report Posted January 13, 2015 Those of you running the 16" w/ rifle gas, do you see a necessity for a adj gas block? Or is this setup good to go without? Mine works with no problems with std low pro gas block .
DNP Posted January 13, 2015 Report Posted January 13, 2015 (edited) Mine seems to be functioning fine without, but I had it on a healthy diet of FGMM 168's. I just bought a few hundred rounds of xm80c and will report back after I get it fired off. Edited January 13, 2015 by DNP
blue109 Posted January 13, 2015 Report Posted January 13, 2015 an adjustable can only turn down the gas. that long gas system will most likely not be over gassed, so you probably wouldn't have any need for an adjustable.
DNP Posted January 13, 2015 Report Posted January 13, 2015 You know....good point. Der. Never thought of that.

Was what I was thinking. I was going to purchase a slr railed adj gas block, for mounting same plain iron sights as an option. http://slrrifleworks.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=57_101&product_id=375 I may buy a pri ar10 height railed GB though....? http://www.midwayusa.com/product/2367115050/pri-gas-block-single-picatinny-rail-ar-10-lr-308-standard-barrel-aluminum-matte
blue109 Posted January 13, 2015 Report Posted January 13, 2015 refresh my memory..what upper/rifle are you running?
Robocop1051 Posted January 13, 2015 Author Report Posted January 13, 2015 I may buy a pri ar10 height railed GB though....? What size do you need? I may have a .875 available.
george_995 Posted January 13, 2015 Report Posted January 13, 2015 Good to know. I talked via pm on FB with BHW they said they could make me a 16" w/ rifle gas, was thinking .750" but I may go w/ the heavier profile(.875"). Do you know if the railed pri block is the same plane as the DPMS high? I have a mega maten. I wrote to mega asking them if the pri was compatible.
blue109 Posted January 13, 2015 Report Posted January 13, 2015 (edited) mega should be old/high DPMS so the ar10 rail should be right. the new/low DPMS would use a regular Ar15 height. the shorter barrel will already be relatively "stiffer" than a longer barrel of the same diameter. might as well save some weight and go with the .75 Edited January 13, 2015 by blue109
criterionbarrels Posted January 26, 2015 Report Posted January 26, 2015 Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I apologize for the delay in our response, but we have been pretty busy over the last week or two with SHOT Show. We're looking forward to getting our .308 stock model barrels up and running, and might be partnering with a few additional .308 AR manufacturers over the course of 2015 as well! Feel free to send us a PM or email us at contact@criterionbarrels.com with any questions regarding our upcoming product launch. It looks like a good number of you are interested in a rifle length 16" barrel, so I'll see what I can do about running that configuration by the boss! -Josh
