edgecrusher Posted November 27, 2016 Report Posted November 27, 2016 My HK USC to UMP conversion. It's always up next..... till it's not. The only way it doesn't happen this spring if that LWRC SMG comes out...

I am the same way about shooting my Ithaca lever action saddle gun in .22WRM. I got it in a trade back in 1981. I got it and a Hi Standard double 9 in a trade. for my Ruger single six .22 LR.

Is that like converting a Holley Vacuum Secondary to a Double Pumper. I did that before and buying a second unit would have been cheaper.
unforgiven Posted November 27, 2016 Report Posted November 27, 2016 After some thought I have a 32 yr. old 10-22 with original barrel that still shoots.

I thought about you but resisted calling you about it... I know this is the LAST thing on your plate.

planeflyer21 Posted December 3, 2016 Author Report Posted December 3, 2016 This TALO edition GP100 is what got me starting this thread. Having five before isn't enough, when you realize this one has an unfluted cylinder.
unforgiven Posted December 4, 2016 Report Posted December 4, 2016 Biggest regret was selling my Ruger "Security six" in .357 6" barrel. Damn good pistol.
mrmackc Posted December 6, 2016 Report Posted December 6, 2016 I still have my .357 Security Six that I traded for in 1980:

Had to shoot the hottest loads at the time (Remington High Velocity 125gr SJHP), discovered the forcing cone on the barrel was cracked. Sent it back to Ruger, after it had been replaced several years prior by the GP100. They replaced the barrel, redid the timing, replaced the springs and sent me the aftermarkets back in a baggie, cleaned the pistol, reblued the whole thing. Didn't charge me a penny.
mrmackc Posted December 6, 2016 Report Posted December 6, 2016 My old standby from my college days. I traded a MEC 12 ga. reloader for it:
planeflyer21 Posted December 6, 2016 Author Report Posted December 6, 2016 /\/\/\/\ Nice Mack! Desperate for a job, my first armed guard gig was worked with a S&W Victory in .38S&W. It was ugly WWII parkerized, not the fancy nickel you have there.
98Z5V Posted December 6, 2016 Report Posted December 6, 2016 My Mk12, Mod 0. Goes to the range every single trip, and gets shot every single trip. It just can't miss.

But it is good and tight. I don't have any history on it before I traded for it. .
SNKEBIT Posted December 7, 2016 Report Posted December 7, 2016 (edited) Holy crap!!! All I have is a crappy Ruger 10/22. Not only gun, just "weakest". LOL Been through hell and back and keeps working. Many a rabbit has feared it. Bought it when I was 18 Yrs old. WOW! That's almost 40 years ago! Man, time goes fast. I had my oldest driving (permit driver) the vet and I to the local gravel pit for her first shoot! She loves the old 10/22 but shot a 12 ga. 762x39 .223 and a .45 kimber pistol! Big day for her and i think i might buy a new 10/22 if she shows more intrest soon.. She was a natural hitting clays at 50 yds. Baby steps. ? Vet says she will out shoot me hahaha i says watch that golf ball! Hit it up the bank and two more times as it rolled down. 10/22 is a must have!
Sisco Posted December 7, 2016 Report Posted December 7, 2016 When my son absconded with my 40 year old 10/22, I did what any 10/22 lover would do in my place. I bought another one. But what another one! I got the stainless bull barrel model with the Mannlicher stock. The thing is amazing accurate! Right out to 100 yards. Now he would like that one, but no no.
planeflyer21 Posted December 7, 2016 Author Report Posted December 7, 2016 /\/\/\/\ Oooo!! I like the Mannlicher version. Been wanting one of these:
Armed Eye Doc Posted December 7, 2016 Report Posted December 7, 2016 Bought one of those for my dad for his birthday. He can't shoot long guns much bigger than a 22 since he got his defibrillator. At almost 87, he is still a better shot than most people.
