planeflyer21
We all have them. That one gun that we keep getting drawn to, which isn't the best or most accurate or most reliable. It's kinda quirky, others love or hate it. Maybe you sold it. Then bought another one. Why? There's just something about it. Mine are Mini-14s and GP100s. jtallen83
My Savage 24 over/under, 20 gauge magnum and .22 WMR, my Father bought it new the year I was born. For hunting it does everything I need in Iowa. Pheasant, duck, rabbits, squirrels, coyote, coon, and deer have all fallen to the clunky old single shot. It has had the finish stripped off the stock and the bluing is 90% gone, there is a finish nail head epoxied in for a front sight compliments of my Grandfather, but she never fails to deliver on game and varmints when I do my part. It doesn't get much use anymore but I've got grandsons that may be putting it to use again soon.

unforgiven
Just read about an Iver Johnson 10mm that got my interest. Seems like a deal for the money.
392heminut
Colt Python! I traded off the 4" one I carried on duty when I first started my LEO career and always regretted it. I now have a 6" model (along with a 6" Anaconda 44 Mag) and will never let it go!

I saw one of these for $650 a couple of months ago at my local pawn shop. It was hard to walk away from it. Came with an extra mag too. Rsquared
Gonna sound funny. But a Taurus PT-92 (an M9 clone). When I first got separated (around 1998), it was the only gun that I could afford. The separation was going ugly at that time. I had two kids and the ex-wife that I was paying for. I still have that gun today. Believe it or not, it's still my bedside piece. Mainly because it has always shot everything that I've ever fed into it. Steel or brass. I don't care what the specs say. Now don't get me wrong. I love my 45's, my 15's and of course ALL of my 10's. But that little POS 9 mm Taurus is still my bedside piece. After all these years....she still works. planeflyer21
You .410 guys, that brings me to one I have yet to own. I inherited my Grandfather's Western Field .410 bolt-action shotgun. It is in poor condition but has gotten more garden pests by itself than all my projectile slingers combined (guns, bows, slingshots, air rifles). That Western Field has me shopping bolt-action shotguns in 20 gauge. Rsquared, I have a PT92 with a MILO insert we are using with the MILO-Range trainer. It serves well as a revolver substitute, having that double-action trigger. I'm on the third damn trigger return spring, stock configuration. Going to try out one of the $30 Wolff springs next. 6 hours ago, Robocop1051 said: Maverick Derringer o/u .357 mag. Solid, case hardened, steel. The guys in my office call it my Pirate Gun. beantown
My Sears and Roebucks Ranger 103-2 (Marlin Model 80). That piece o crap, ancient, no serial number, open site, no bluing left 20 dollar rifle just won't go away. The cheap and fun to shoot part, keeps it hanging around. Not to mention it's pretty darn accurate for a rifle built around 1920. Someone wanted it for their sons first rifle. He offered me 150 bucks for it. I just couldn't let it go. mrmackc
I used to get laughed at when I would take the Winchester 42, .410 pump gun dove hunting. But it is actually the only gun I ever got a triple on doves with. Hardly anyone laughs anymore. I have been shooting it since my 12th birthday when my dad bought it for me. I have worn the bluing off both sides of the receiver and much of the barrel. I hunted with it the day before I left for Marine boot camp and my dad used it and never cleaned it until after I came home from active duty. It is scratched up and the stock has a lot of dings. Dad always shot the short 2.5" shells in it because it was faster to reload, he said it jammed when he used 3" shells. It never jams with me. I did have fun cleaning the chamber for 3" shells after he used it a few years without cleaning it. It is a delight to carry and wing shoot when walking up quail and doves. You guys all talking .410 makes me think of my 28 gauge. It was my moms dads, I'm greatful my uncle held onto it for so long and never pawned it. He gave it and a model 12 twelve gauge to me when I was 10 or so. My dad hunted rabbits with it till I was old enough. The thing I love about it is it has taught me how to de cock a gun safely and proficiently. A group of my friend have talked about going rabbit hunting this winter I need to get some shells for it but I'm excited to get back out and hunt with it. My dad enjoyed it so much he waited for Remington to make them (guess they do a run so many years) and picked up a pump wing master.
