AR-Sniper Posted March 18, 2014 Report Posted March 18, 2014 hey guys, just like the title says, what is your take on gloves? yeay? or neah? if yeay.. then what brand do you shoot. and why? if neah.. then why not?
Sharkey Posted March 18, 2014 Report Posted March 18, 2014 I've always been a "tactile" type and need to be able to touch and feel anything and everything I am doing. Gloves take that away so i say no. Either glove-less or at least finger-less gloves if you feel you need at least SOMETHING on there. It's been a cold winter so I've had my finger-less on a lot although people seem to ask me "why bother" quite a bit. It's definitely a personal preference thing though so no "best" answer depending on what you train with.
unforgiven Posted March 18, 2014 Report Posted March 18, 2014 Bare hand on pistol, fingerless [sometimes] on rifle.Summer bare hand.
Robocop1051 Posted March 18, 2014 Report Posted March 18, 2014 I wear gloves all day long, all year long. If you're going to wear them, learn to shoot with them. Oakley SI Assault Oakley SI Lightweight Here's the pair I'm wearing right now...

Robo , you have no hands or there're invisible <lmao> I wear gloves hunting up north ,but my trigger hand is usually in my pocket with a hot hand & no glove. Edited March 18, 2014 by survivalshop
Dane Armory Posted March 18, 2014 Report Posted March 18, 2014 You have to where them in the summer ! The Guns get too hot when they sit in the sun. I prefer leather shooting gloves, I get them from Dicks sporting goods for around $29. Bob Allen brand 40% leather 60% RX7.
planeflyer21 Posted March 18, 2014 Report Posted March 18, 2014 After a few trips to the range in the 130° pit in the summer, with those beautiful black metal forearms on the LAR-8s, I'm quickly becoming a proponent of gloves while shooting.
D.R.D. Posted March 18, 2014 Report Posted March 18, 2014 These look comfy http://www.skdtac.com/PIG-Full-Dexterity-Tactical-FDT-Alpha-Glove-p/pig.700.htm
texas30cal Posted March 18, 2014 Report Posted March 18, 2014 I will never wear out the ones I was born with. I cannot understand what would make you want to do anything in 130*!!
Ben Diss Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 I hunted pigs a couple of weeks ago during some very cold weather. Gloves were necessary. I really like my Hatch KSG-500 gloves for shooting, but they were a little light. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001DZT6HY/ For colder conditions, I go to my Seirus Innovations Max http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005ED2D5S/
shepp Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 I hate gloves but that's me don't like the hunting at work ( my hands reflect it) or shooting. Only time I wear gloves is riding motorcycle. The ones I wear are much like the ones robo posted but are alpinestars. If I had to wear a glove while shooting I would choose a glove much like them . Like others stated it's a feel thing.
shibiwan Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 (edited) Bike gloves - half-finger Giro Monaco's are great when it gets warm out here, and I still have tactile feel. Edited March 19, 2014 by shibiwan
seasprite Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 I actually had to take my deer this year wearing gloves and since I shoot left handed didn't realize I was blocking the ejection port with my oger gloved hands and jammed the rifle. Good thing I need one shot or I would of been deer less this year. I know if I would practice with the gloves on it would go better but like others have said I like the feel you have without.

Normally when I hunt I were those flip top mittens with the fingerless gloves if I need to keep warm most the time my right hands in my breast pocket
FaRKle! Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 Here's the pair I'm wearing right now...Holy crap those are clean compared to mine! =P
unforgiven Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 Talkin to a brother I need a pair of "Saps".Just sayin. :box1:
Robocop1051 Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 Holy crap those are clean compared to mine! =P They just "look" clean. I can't tell you how many times they have been rubbed down with industrial strength cleaner.
Zebra644 Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 It depends if she can still have kids or not , oh you mean those gloves, yeah I cut a slit in my trigger finger so I can still feel it.
sketch Posted March 20, 2014 Report Posted March 20, 2014 I use atlas gloves for work they are like skin but keep the slivers out. I go through a pair in a month but if you rinse them in soap and water the sweat smell may stay at bay for longer! Funny story met up with the GF after work at a grocery store we did a few laps and she is getting more irritated by the minute?! Finally she looses it what is that god awful smell?!! It was my hands bad juju I had to gtfo hahaha! Works every time!
greenmist Posted March 21, 2014 Report Posted March 21, 2014 Gloves: Mechanix, Hatch, or Oakleys, or dirt-bikin gloves which already have the clutch and brake finger tips removed. I just got used to it as we sometimes qual/ work with gloves on. Only prob there has been is with those damned hinged triggers on the stock M&Ps.
Sisco Posted March 21, 2014 Report Posted March 21, 2014 (edited) With a lot of the modern forearms with piciatinny rails all the way a round, at least one glove for your fore end hand is almost a necessity, especially with a 308 recoil. Don't like them for detail work with a National Match trigger, though. Train with them some with a pistol just so I am familiar with the feel if need be. Usually just use a pair of unlined buck skin gloves, since they still allow decent sensitivity for trigger let off. Edited March 21, 2014 by Sisco
