98Z5V Posted June 24, 2015 Report Posted June 24, 2015 Send them all to me I'll do the test You wouldn't know how to run the gear required to measure the differences... <lmao>
98Z5V Posted June 24, 2015 Report Posted June 24, 2015 Good attitude. Now figure out some t-shirts. <thumbsup>
Robocop1051 Posted June 24, 2015 Report Posted June 24, 2015 For the record... I don't know how to run the gear either... that's why I have Asian friends.
shepp Posted June 24, 2015 Report Posted June 24, 2015 Good attitude. Now figure out some t-shirts. <thumbsup> Probably be in olde English with the Virgin Mary on the back
D.R.D. Posted June 25, 2015 Report Posted June 25, 2015 Buckle up and grab your popcorn: http://precisionrifleblog.com/2015/06/24/muzzle-brakes-field-test/
survivalshop Posted June 25, 2015 Report Posted June 25, 2015 (edited) I want to be excited about their results , but they only touched the tip of the Muzzle device iceberg . I guess I'm not one of the in crowd , because I only recognize one or two of those Brakes . It is nice to see someone do a scientific study on them . I reckon I'm going to have to sign up for the results , just to see. Edited July 11, 2015 by survivalshop
blue109 Posted June 25, 2015 Report Posted June 25, 2015 Seriously...I've never heard of most of them. Must be popular brands in the precision/competition community or something.
D.R.D. Posted June 25, 2015 Report Posted June 25, 2015 Yeah, I was wondering how many of them were selected as well. I believe the guy doing the Truth About Guns 5.56 Muzzle Brake Shoot Out will be including a few of the same ones in the upcoming Round 3. So, it will be interesting to compare their findings.
Cali_Ed Posted June 25, 2015 Report Posted June 25, 2015 I have the benny wondering how it will stack up
Rsquared Posted June 26, 2015 Report Posted June 26, 2015 I guess I'm a boring guy. I find what I like and just keep using it (for the most part). I mostly use AAC brakes and comps. But that's more for the attachment points than the overall brake/comp performance. It's a balanced mix....in my head at least. Now, granted, I have branched out with a couple different rifles over time. But that was usually for a specific purpose/objective. I feel that this whole subject is more of a matter of opinion and preference than anything else. But, with that being said, that's why all of us have such a diverse list of rifles.
survivalshop Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 Lets see if this will post . I cam across this in an article , kinda cool how the gas flows compared to a Brake & no Brake .
Spartan Posted July 2, 2015 Report Posted July 2, 2015 I read his whole review but he lost credibility when he said he put the VG on upside down...
D.R.D. Posted July 8, 2015 Report Posted July 8, 2015 First set of results: http://precisionrifleblog.com/2015/07/07/muzzle-brakes-recoil-results-for-6mm-6-5mm/
D.R.D. Posted July 14, 2015 Report Posted July 14, 2015 http://precisionrifleblog.com/2015/07/13/308-muzzle-brake/
blue109 Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 Been researching that little bastard brake and it looks awesome. $160 is a little steep for me right now though.
D.R.D. Posted July 18, 2015 Report Posted July 18, 2015 Latest installment: http://precisionrifleblog.com/2015/07/17/muzzle-brake-recoil-reduction/ This definitely gets interesting as you compare the shape of the brakes and angle of the baffles to some of the designs tested here: http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2015/04/jeremy-s/ar-15-muzzle-brake-shootout-2/
unforgiven Posted July 18, 2015 Report Posted July 18, 2015 (edited) Interesting how rearward cuts could have a negative result those those in close proximity.Great links brother D.R.D.. Edited July 18, 2015 by unforgiven
D.R.D. Posted July 19, 2015 Report Posted July 19, 2015 Yeah, its seems like 35 degrees is close to the max baffle angle.
