shepp Posted September 17, 2014 Report Posted September 17, 2014 I put out a feeder this summer for the first time and they've been hitting it pretty hard since it's cooled off for they're flight south. Yesterday I got out of work early so I sat out on the deck for a bit with my camera. Took him a few trips to feeder to get used to me but it paid off
blue109 Posted September 17, 2014 Report Posted September 17, 2014 (edited) id never seen a baby until last week. my daughter and I were taking a walk and she likes to stop at every house to look at flowers. one house had what I thought were fat moths, or bee sized flying bugs. I got a little closer and realized they were tiny little humming birds. she was so excited. they were flying right up to her shirt. Edited September 17, 2014 by blue109
shepp Posted September 17, 2014 Author Report Posted September 17, 2014 That's cool my parents have a ton of them at their house. I'm pretty sure this is a juvenile male ruby throat
Microgunner Posted September 18, 2014 Report Posted September 18, 2014 You know how many of those things it takes just for a good snack?
DNP Posted September 18, 2014 Report Posted September 18, 2014 First it was flowers...then Star Trek....and now birds. You guys worry me. Very cool though. We haven't refilled our feeder in a while...I think they're all mad at us now.

Matt.Cross Posted September 18, 2014 Report Posted September 18, 2014 You know how many of those things it takes just for a good snack? LMAO.... ... not to mention how difficult they are to find in bulk. Deep fried hummingbird topped with powdered sugar is the best thing since funnel cakes.
shibiwan Posted September 18, 2014 Report Posted September 18, 2014 So when are you gonna blast them with a shotgun? >:D
