Rsquared
Field Report Operation : Spring Shibi Date : Classified Location : Somewhere in Arizona TOD : Approximately 0230 (Exact times are still classified to date) Extraction team comprised of combined misanthropes, AKA 308ARForum members. Team member specialties remain classified. Names are deemed as classified by command. Serving commander of unit is Colonel classified Pentagon Special Operations Group, classified division, classified battalion, classified company. Team objectives happened approximately as follows: (We all know the pick-up routine by now) The team performed a HALO jump into the LZ from a slow flying, blacked out C-130 with no tail numbers. The moonless night provided the perfect ingress. There was nothing but silence at first. After all, with the thin atmosphere at those altitudes, you don't even hear the rush of the wind when you jump. Seconds later, you could hear the ever increasing "whoosh", as the air thickened around the high, night jumping rescue force. The first one to hit the ground, had been the first one out the door. 98 hit the ground, rolled end over end, and came up on his feet.....slapping the chute release on his chest....and proceeded to move forward to his rendevous point. A heightened sense of awareness, and adrenaline were driving him forward. He moved in a semi crouched position towards his objective (weapon forward). A small darkened building (a shack some might say) was where he was heading. 392Heminut hit the ground with authority. Throwing his chute off, he started his (oh my god tall assed) stride towards the objective. Stopping only to rack the slide of his sidearm (shocker...a 1911), push it back into it's holster....tug on the charging handle of his rifle...and proceed forward. He could see the building off in the distance. He stopped. He watched as other team members were hitting the ground all around him. He laughed to himself moniacally. Knowing that the cocksuckers inside didn't have any clue of what was about to be unleashed upon them. One by one. Team members were performing the same manuevers. Hitting the ground, and coming up ready for action. Charging weapons.....racking sidearms.....tugging on the blades affixed to their chestrigs. Preparing for the full onslaught of the assault. Matt.....then DNP. Followed by Blue, Planeflyer, Shepp, Farkle, Bubba (get the FUK outta the way), R2, Unforgiven, Zebra, Sketch, Beachmaster, Easy, SS, AdamO, MikeDaddy and Wash. Only to be followed by Edge, who hit the ground and came up to an aggressive stance. He stood there for a few moments, staring in the darkened distance. And then. PLOOOFFFF! Robo hit the ground beside him and instantly rolled up into a kneeling firing position. Weapons ready, the entire team nodded, and moved forward. Stain hit the ground and came to a stop, kneeling on all fours in the darkness. He scanned the area in front of him slowly. Choosing just the "right" spot, he slowly started moving forward. He moved into his spot (not far from his drop point). It was a bulging, dune-like feature of the terrain that he figured was going to suit his particular set of skills just fine. When he slid into place, it had him a good 40 to 50 feet above the dark arizona desert floor. He could see other members moving towards the building in the distance as he proceeded to setup his equipment. He dropped his rifle into position. Snapped his NV device into place........and proceeded to "watch". The team spread out into 4 equal squads. One for each compass point of the building. It was a small 2 story structure, with 3-sided balconies that just happen to face the side that Stain was dropped into (wonder how that happened huh?). He was setup in his position approximately 500 yards from the building. There was a single guard on each balcony landing, slowly patrolling back and forth. Stain zeroed in on each one of them indivudually. One by one, he squeezed the trigger of his suppressed weapon. Not drawing attention as each one of them fell in turn. Once ready, and in position, he pressed his comm........and the team heard what they were waiting for. In a hushed tone......the team members heard in their earpieces ................................GREEN LIGHT! The teams struck furiously. Power being cut....Doors being breached.....flashbangs......room clearing. From all directions, the men seemed to pour into this pitiful defended structure. The lower level was cleared within moments. Enemy bodies were dropping as fast as the team members could enter a room. Alpha team stormed to the upper level. Kicking in the door to the main living area of the upstairs.....they piled in. 98 went in strong, with R2 going in flank left, Edge going flank right, Robo following in center and unforgiven standing tall in the door. They all stopped in their tracks as they saw the vision of the sole combatant standing with his 45 against the temple of Shibi. Shibi sat, tied to a chair. Bloody....he had obviously been worked over. He simply stared forward though. Not giving in. There would be NO capitulation. He simply said (in a husky breathless voice)........I'm ready to leave now gentlemen. With that, the shot rang out from just behind Unforgiven. Magwa, from the shadows behind Rene, had drawn his sidearm.....layed his forearm on Rene's shoulder and fired. The gunman went down with a resounding thud. One right to the head. Instantly, 98 and Edge pounced forward to drill 2 more rounds into the chest of the downed figure. He wasn't getting back up. Egress time. The teams began to fall out of the building. Moving towards the 3 blackhawks that were landing in (what used to be) the yard of this "fortified" structure. As the team hurried Shibi to the waiting Helo, charges were already starting to go off. The other teams had set all of them perfectly. One by one, explosions rocked the area, as the entire building slowly went up into what would become one HUGE fireball. First the upper area of the structure. Only to be followed by ones that were obviously set at it's "foundation"..... the lower areas of the building. (TWO MINUTES LATER) Shibi sat on the Helo, as it sped off into the distance. He looked around to the guys that were "riding" with him. It was the members of Alpha team. 98 gave him a look of "FUK YEAH, we fuked those guys up". Eyes wide and grinning. R2 gave just the nod. Edge gave him the "you're with us now" pat on the shoulder. Robo gave him the "we gotcha buddy" handshake. Unforgiven gave him the friendly (as always) smile and look as he sat back to rest. But then, Shibi looked up to the ONE man who had been on the Helo the entire time. The ONE man who had actually planned out this entire operation. The ONE man who was truly in charge of this rag tagged outfit. The ONE man who all of these guys would do whatever it is that he asked. Shibi let out a slight laugh, and said..................................Nice to see you Drew. The Helo's flew off to an undisclosed destination. Matt.Cross
Damn!! I always get stuck doing the pre-mission vision checks. Yeah Doc, but if you didn't, these AARs would be mostly about friendly fire incidents caused by the geezers who insist on guarding the flanks (mostly so they can empty their ancient bladders without excusing themselves from the main squad).
