FUK! As some of you, closer to me than others, know. I HATE cleaning rifles. Now....I love building them. I love shooting them. And I love talking about them. But I fukin HATE cleaning them. Rob will appreciate this. I finally got around to cleaning the MK18 today. After all.....we played around with her at Edge's graduation last MAY. Meaning May of '14. GAWD DAMN she was dirty! Needless to say.............3 hours later........she was finally cleaned up.

I just figured that I'd pass that along.

Carry on.......as you were. <lmao>

Nope. Just mud/grime in the receiver. Dirty as all get out. She felt sooooo dry as you would rack her. BUT....she kept firing at the range.....even suppressed. And I figured that I use her as my "go to" rifle......that she deserved a good thorough cleaning.

Sheeeeiiitttt! She's feeling pretty sweet about right now. With some actual lubrication. <laughs>

Why haven't you bought a sonic wash tank yet?

That Mk18 was THE DIRTIEST firearm I've ever shot. Worse than an entire day of black powder muzzle loading. I've never had to mortar an empty rifle, just because it was dirty.

For the record... Daniel Defense made a dream machine with that Mk18. I added a shut ton of lube, mortared her open, racked her a few times and added a bunch more lube... then bang bang bang... she didn't need any cleaning. She liked being dirty and treated badly. Just how we like them.

Did someone mention dirty women? <thumbsup> <dontknow> <hump> <outtahere>

Not here , we are all professionals  <thumbsup>

I say this a lot to people who bring firearms to me because they are malfunctioning , "they all run good dirty till they FUK up" & when they do FUK up, its always at an inopportune time . With most its when that big buck comes into view & others its when they really need the firearm for serious business , it does happen .  <dontknow>

I've gotten many a good deal on .22 rifles that were dirty filthy.  What happened to it?  "I don't know.  It was my grandpa's, then my dad's, then mine.  Must have run a million rounds through it.  Yeah, I'll take $25."

Go home and clean it. Bang bang bang.

When I had a gunshop about 50% of my business the month before dove season, deer season, quail season, etc.,etc. was doing complete cleaning job at $25 per gun I usually could do a couple in an hour. I had several offers of trade ins that just needed cleaning. The worst I ever saw was a Remington Nylon ranchers truck gun that was "wore out" I bought for "parts" for $5.00. I never had any of the aerosol stuff, except WD-40 and it worked pretty well,  back then and tore the old nylon job down not too bad of a job, the bad part was putting it back together.  No U-tube! I had to order a factory manual, it did shoot good after that. Sold it for around $100 and lost money, after that cleaning job (labor + supplies) LOL.

I'm confused - you talking about rifles, or women?...

Rifles.

Who in the world would think someone was talking about passing down sloppy seconds through 3 generations, purchasing it from user #3, then going to town in there?

Yeah yeah yeah...besides you.   <laughs>

We all still greatly appreciate the Nancy Pelosi offer, some of us hoping it never comes to that.

Others hoping you'll transfer it to Hillary if need be.

Old school. I find cleaning a gun after the range or hunting a religious ritual. Prolongs the experience if you will. Passed that on to my son. The other day we cleaned side by side after a day at the range. Good time.

I tend to be the same way. If not every other trip. I like to keep an eye out for any signs of a problem or excessive wear.

Same here. I know you can run most weapons dirty but I just like my weapons clean. I don't do a white glove cleaning which I always felt was BS, just a good cleaning and then lube her up for the next range run.
