WA whitetail hunter Posted June 7, 2016 Report Posted June 7, 2016 (edited) From what I see so far, this site is full of information and friendly advice. just recently got my first ar10 a dpms g2 hunter, and so far love it and cant wait to break it in up in the mountains chasing deer. if any one has info on places for aftermarket upgrade parts compatible with the g2 hunter please let me know! I just got my RRA AR10 last november, and took it deer hunting last year. Great tool to have in the woods! And the .308 puts a whitetail down hard. I used FGMM 168 gr BTHP and was impressed

What kind of upgrades were you looking for? You bought a rifle that is pretty limited in aftermarket assistance. I don't believe the "hunter" model even has a threaded barrel. The stock and pistol grip are standard parts and can be replaced with any AR parts. The trigger is standard as well... Maybe get the barrel threaded (5/8"x24) and add a muzzle device???

Would like to find a larger charging handle like the bcm mod 3, or even something similar to the silent capture buffer from JP.

Robocop1051 Posted June 19, 2016 Report Posted June 19, 2016 As far as charging handles go, a badger latch modification is the only option I know of. MechArmor does NOT make that model charging handle, yet.
jtallen83 Posted June 19, 2016 Report Posted June 19, 2016 My bad, I didn't catch the G2 thing. I use a Badger latch on my AR-10 (ArmaLite), better than a standard latch by far.
