GRA Posted July 1, 2016 Report Posted July 1, 2016 To whom it may concern ... FOLKS ... I am pleased to announce that as of 1600 hrs. today CST, after a total of 32 years, 3 months and 10 days of service, I am officially 10-7 RETIRED !!! For all of my former co-workers on here I again express to you my appreciation for all you have contributed to my wonderful career. Most of all, thanks again for having my back in some of the most trying situations. Time and time again, if not for the partners I had, I very easily may not have come home alive at the end of my shift. This can be said for everyone I worked for, and with, going all the way back to the USAF, from 1982 - 1986. I also give a special thanks to all my family members for all your patience, understanding, and support all these years, as this indeed is what kept me moving smarter and grunting harder. Finally, to all of you, I wish you good luck and Godspeed in all your endeavors and efforts in attaining your life goals. Thanks again ... GOD BLESS YOU ALL !!!
Sisco Posted July 1, 2016 Report Posted July 1, 2016 Enjoy every second of your richly deserved retirement.

survivalshop Posted July 1, 2016 Report Posted July 1, 2016 Congratulations , now if you think you were busy before , wait till you settle in to retirement , all of a sudden there is more work for you to do then you thought possible . Not saying its a bad thing ., you have the rest of your life to finish & no one, but yourself to answer to .

Not saying its a bad thing ., you have the rest of your life to finish & no one, but yourself to answer to . Truth. I will never retire. All my retired friends get mongo busy when they retire, with crap labor people don't want to pay professionals to do. "We're moving Monday. Hey Bob, you're retired..." Or yard digging, siding replacement, roofing, car hauling, you name it. Choose what fills your time and learn to say "No, can't help you. Have you tried ______?"
mineralman55 Posted July 1, 2016 Report Posted July 1, 2016 Congrats! Enjoy retirement. Don't forget, you are old enough to say "No!"
COBrien Posted July 1, 2016 Report Posted July 1, 2016 Congrats, GRA. Based on the fact that you went 10-7, I assume you are now a retired LEO. Thank you for your service, both military and LE. How many (now former) coworkers asked you to be a reserve officer?

Unfortunately I have to get certified by the State first. That is indeed future consideration but as of now the nights. weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts are PERMANENTLY OVER.
392heminut Posted July 1, 2016 Report Posted July 1, 2016 Congrats brother! Anytime we make it out of this job alive and relatively healthy it's a great accomplishment! Stay busy and try to keep that honey do list from getting too long!

EngrBob Posted July 1, 2016 Report Posted July 1, 2016 Getting that mini-mill and working on the 80% receivers is definitely a house mouse duty - you can always point to cleaning up the chips!
