_sivart
Years later, I finally finished my AR-10. I attached a youtube link of it being fired in slo-mo to help show you what its doing. All specs are listed in the description. Not really sure what this thing is doing, looks like the extractor can't get a good grip on the case? When it tries to load a new round, it collides with the spent case and bends the new round going in. Let me know what you all think

guruofhotrod
First thing that I see is it looks kinda dry - lube the crap outta that thing with some Mobil 1 motor oil - get the BCG Drippin Wet!! also try a variety of different ammo and see how it behaves. She may just need a good break in. Edited January 23, 2017 by guruofhotrod
MikedaddyH
Break in with Mobil 1 or Castrol GTX. Wet!
Robocop1051
You need to tear down your bolt and take a look at your ejection spring. It looks like your springs are toast. Luckily, they're a quick $1 fix. Oh.... and....
DNP
Robo....ban yourself. Send yourself to the corner...whatever you need to do, but do it. That is hideous.

Toolndie7
Possibly over gassed?

I thought about that too, but in slo-mo there should be a visible bolt bounce. There appears to be plenty of time and room for the ejection. The casing just isn't clearing the receiver. I read how that could be possible, and the benefits of having a adjustable gas block, any takers? Looks about 90 bux, if their claims are true it would be nice to have one regardless As far as ejector springs and different extractor claws, I'll try the cheaper route before buying a new gas block. Pardon the ignorance, I've been out of the AR world for a while, do AR15 ejector springs fit in the AR10 bolt? The usual places only have AR15 bolt parts

Reminds me of the time I mixed up the dogs thyroid medication with my blood pressure pills. I had an overwhelming urge to lick my balls but I couldn't reach them. Wife just put a cone around my head. I would as said , inspect the Ejector & Extractor assembly's , for burr's or debris in the Bolt where the fit . I have seen Extractors that hold onto the Case too long cause the same type of issues . _sivart
Update: Swapped out the gas block to and adjustable one, turns out I did not have a .025 gap at the barrel shoulder on the last gas block according to the instructions, feel like that would be a critical step? At the range, adjusted the gas low enough to cycle the round, now the spent cases eject forward to about the 2 o'clock position. I did lube it thoroughly as directed in your picture of that critter covered in lube. I did a double tap a few times for good measure and it did a double feed on me as it did in the video Whats next? Heavier buffer?
planeflyer21
Yup, that gap between the gas block and barrel step is critical.
