Stocking up on gold an silver is fine, but in the aftermath of a real Holocaust make sure  you have plenty of dry stores, weapons, ammunition and fuel for your own use and trading material.......

For sure, it wasn't until very recently that stacking some silver came close enough to the top of the list to start spending on it. Have the rotation for food and first aid pretty much handled, of course guns and ammo are always at the top of the must get more list

One of the biggest positives I have seen from this scam-virus is friends and family starting to ask this "crazy prepper" what they should be getting, that and the wife appreciating having a stash instead of grumbling about spending on things we "don't need".

Don't forget to update those range cards men!

For those that rise from the aftermath of a nuclear or biological event and most if not all of our infrastructure is gone I'll bet you'll have a hard time trading your gold, silver, or precious gems for some canned goods or dry stores.  Those with guns and ammunition will go the head of the line at my place!........

I remember my mother telling me back during the depression of the 30's that money was useless. was nothing to buy, kinda like it was here for a couple weeks. The panic buying might be easing up a bit here but I hate to think what might happen if the totals here would have continued to soar on cases and deaths.  Our Governor never put us under a lockdown. most people stayed away from others.

Keeping the country shut down for a long time would put us back to the 30's again. when manufactures of food products go down then money will be no good again. You can do without a lot of things during a survival crisis, food and water is a must. with all that said I would put my stock and money into the things that will keep me alive. Gold and Silver bars are pretty but I can't throw good enough to use them for ammo. so ammo and guns to protect what you have is a must. there will be others that didn't prepare and want what you have.

Yeah, I've heard that. I've also been in the position of having someone whisper in my ear.  It doesn't always work. (Reminds me of that joke, "whisper in daddy's ear." If you don't remember that one, ask).

Have to say I don't remember it, sounds like a might be a prison related joke.

Disposable butane lighters and batteries! I'm pretty sure it was on this forum that someone posted a link to a story about how people were surviving in a middle east country that had gone to schit and that guy that wrote the article said butane lighters and batteries were huge items to have.

He was Bosnian I believe , not sure if this is the same link posted in the past but it’s his story. Bought a couple mega packs of bics just because of this story, that and and found it a good excuse to collect ESEE and Mora knives.

For me some silver coinage is one of many hedges, no way to know how bad it may get or when it may get but covering bases is good. My Grandparents went through the depression in NYC, they always stressed to keep some silver and gold back. For me it’s something I like as well, just like my ESEE knives, hopefully all I ever do with my coins is get them out and look at them with the grandkids.

We're just stealing money from our kids and grandkids, brother.  Nah, not really - when they're sixty, they'll still be paying off the interest on the current 20+ Trillion in debt, and the Fed can just print more...

Says it all right there.Dems AND Republicans have fukked us.

Great article.  Willingness to do the unexpected,   is easy once you realize the threat.  I don't drink but saving alcohol is a great idea.   I've experienced three riots and a couple of huge human stampedes.  If you can hold onto your wits you'll see there's only a few nut jobs in the crowd.  They need to be neutralized.  Most folks are sheep and will follow the Alpha,  become the alpha,  then when quiet appears become a wolf in sheep's clothing.  Do not stand out in the crowd,  you'll become the target.  The guy from the article says, "  don't be fancy..."  good idea.  I've been avoiding crowds for thirty years.  When my family does the Breast Cancer Awareness walk I'm like a sheepdog.  I stand off to the sides,  do my best to look like some goof off,  but have laser vision capabilities watching my loved ones.  Avoid crowds when they reappear soon.  I think many folks are going to act like a War has just ended when they get the release signals from the Gumment.  We may never see the world as we knew it at one time,  well,  if you are paying attention anyhow.

I have been filling my prepper panty all my life with skills how to make candles is better than owning 100 of them knowing how to set snares and deadfalls, hunting and woods skills, how to find water and how to make a well etc etc ...if you have skills you can get other people to make and do stuff because they will be hungry... and I am going to be a hunter of evil warlords.... 🙂

I'm with you, brother.  If you give people a quart of water (serious shiit, if water is the problem), you might be appreciated.  If you teach them how to gather water - from shiit they had no idea about - then you just made a brand new person, that doesn't have to DEPEND on YOU...  If they listened...

Everything else you listed - has to fall in line after the water. That is paramount. Same principle applies, though. You can give away anything, and people won't learn from that. You can TEACH them something, and if they practice it, they'll become proficient at it.  It's at that point they they turn from "Liability" to "Asset"...
