Sure looks like a semi-automatic with a detachable mag - which is kind of my basic definition. Seeking sense and logic in Canadian firearms law is an excercise in futility. KSdefender
On the way: A suppressor cover for the new Lahar-30 can from Rauch Precision. This will be the second purchase from them. 4 week lead time, but worth it.
Albroswift
Hey, guys Going the other way. Bidding on and winning a few cap and ball revolvers to go with the 50 cal Hawken my dad gave me a while back. 1858's and an 1873. 1873 is kind of funny, a Uberti reproduction of a gun that never existed. The 1873 in 45 colt is the Peacemaker, and the 44-40 was simply referred to as the 1873 I believe. Metallic cartridge sixguns from day 1. Still in the mail: the 1858's are Italian copies of the Remington 1858, top strap frame to increase strength and make cylinder swapping a lot easier. Been shooting this one, a couple more in the mail. Edited April 30 by Albroswift
shooterrex
I have a Remington repro like that somewhere. Haven't had it out in a few years.
Albroswift
Had the Hawken setting around for a couple years after my dad gave it to me, took it down to the muzzleloader shop and the old boy set me up with everything I needed, including a lot of instruction. Then took the 1858 down there, ditto. Great resource.
Cunuckgaucho
Just got the tracking number so mid next week expecting my new Bergara B-14 HMR in 7PRC. Took a bit of hunting, seems getting either the 6.5PRC or 300PRC is relitively common but this was the only 7PRC i managed to find in Canada. Eventually I'll put it in a MDT chassis like Operation Maple Syrup. Hint- if you can wait MDT has their big sale Black Friday

If you unscrew the cap and give the string a sharp pull it activates both the nitrous oxide and turbo boost at the same time

BrianK
I ordered a new DLC bolt for my KIDD SG. The blurb about the new bolts stated they'd be shipped in October. But I got a heads up that mine was shipping a few days ago. I disregarded it thinking it was an automated message and the computer somehow screwed up. But no, it's arriving today. Why DLC? I've been using a DLC bolt in a suppressed .300BLK in the hope that it would be easier to clean. Yup, just wipe it clean. Some folks also run them dry. I don't. The KIDD is a rimfire and rimfire burns filthy. Add a can and that makes it even worse. DLC should pay off bigtime in it. The lube I have planned is Hornady one shot and the combo should work great together. Right now I have a plain ol' KIDD bolt in it with One Shot and I just use compressed air to clean it. Also being delivered are 2 bricks of SK Standard plus ammo.
BrianK
A pic rail end cap, pin, and hairpin clip for my B&T GHM9 SBR. The factory folding "wire" stock is a hair too long and I'm looking at one that will fit me better. On a small PCC I don't want a too long stock, I prefer too short rather than too long. I have one that fits me better but it's rigid and I want one that folds AND fits me better. Yeah, I know I'm asking a lot. The end cap was supposed to be delivered today but wasn't. The pin and hairpin clip have been on order for 9 days tomorrow and still haven't even entered the USPS system. B&T gets flunking grades for that! Maybe they're on vacation. In Summer? In Tampa? Maybe but not my top choice for time of year for vaca' in Tampa. But I don't live there. (obviously, otherwise I'd drive there and pick the minor parts up)

BrianK
Yesterday an HK 3 lug adapter arrived for my .32/20 Contender barrel. Why? I want to load some light bullets sub-sonic* and don't want to fiddle with changing the end cap on the can. I thought I'd have a problem finding an adapter to fit the 5/8 24 (I think that's the thread) on the barrel, but no, they are easily found. Still waiting on the B&T parts that I ordered on 8/23. Supposedly they shipped a "partial " order today. If they had contacted me to tell me they were waiting for all the parts that would have been OK. But silence on their part prompts an inquiry; common sense, which is not all that common today. Whatever. * Sure I can load light subsonics in the .300BLK AR-15 but I don't know if they'll feed even if I manually operate the charge handle. So phooey on that, just load light subs in the single shot and bullet shape means nothing.
BrianK
Oh, and one of these also arrived. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Q3VST3Y?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 What does that have to do with shooting? The range I belong to has the 25 and 50 yard berms down low. My bipod only depresses just so much. My rear bag needs to be elevated and I think the adjustable elevation will work best. I guess I'll find out.
MtnMike
In this day and age, I like to give a shout out for good customer service when encountered. Recently had an issue with my CVA muzzleloading boom stick. CVA/BPI customer service has been excellent. They quickly addressed my email and sent free replacement parts to fix the problem. 😁
BrianK
MtnMike, what timing! Customer service... A week or so ago I was scammed (totally my fault) I contacted Mastercard to undo the charge, cancel my card and get a new one. Still waiting on the new cards that will be delivered today. BUT, everyone has the new card number, EXCEPT ME! I have subscriptions with Amazon and if they don't get delivered it's no big deal. It can wait until Amazon gets the new number, except they already have it. Another outfit that I'm on the fence about continuing business with since they tricked me into a subscription I didn't want to have the new card #, they have it too. There is no easy way to contact that company and if they wanted my business I wanted them to call me. But Mastercard gave them the new #. That's infuriating! I didn't give Mastercard authorization to give anything re: me to anyone. But the people that actually do need my new card #, T-Mobile, no, Mastercard didn't give it to them, so my cell phone is useless as a phone. I was madder than a hornet when I found this out. Using my landline that only does local, emergency, and 1 800 calls I was able to contact Mastercard. There is a way to deselect Mastercard giving out information. The default should be not giving it out but that's not the case. Mine is changed to that option now. Just be aware. If you don't tell them to not share your data they will share it. While on the phone (still waiting on my new cards) it was suggested that the new and as yet undelivered cards should be cancelled and new ones issued once again. I about hit the ceiling. That would mean waiting another 2 weeks so that I could give payment to T-Mobile to use my phone. All because Mastercard gave out my card #. No that's not happening. Oh, so Amazon has the new card #. I figured let me go into that acc't and get my new card # so that I could pay T-Mobile. No, it's not available to me through Amazon. But Amazon has it to use while I don't. BrianK
I still think the default option for MasterCard should be not giving out data. But hours later the cards arrived and everything has been "fixed"; for now. No doubt there are some folks who have been given my blessing to auto-subscribe me that will turn up in time. But the option and my HUGE complaint is Mastercard taking it on themselves to think they were authorized to give my card # to people they liked without my approval. That's modern life and huge legalese agreements that no one reads or has a legal team paid to read for them. Yeah, it sux.

BrianK
One of the benefits of the KIDD supergrade is the barrel change option. So one expensive rimfire (10/22 pattern) can be a heavy bench rifle and in minutes morph into a field rifle. Right now it's a 12# + bench rifle. But in the mail is an ULW barrel and it should be here not later than Tuesday. But USPS has screwed up delivery dates before. To speed up the morphing process I have 2 sets of Torx bits coming in today I'll take out the one with the best fit to put in my driver set so that I can remove the target scope and put on the 3-9x field scope w/QD levers. Already in hand is the lightweight buttstock that goes on the buffer tube. Off comes the Luth-AR buttstock. I figure conversion will be under 5 minutes if I'm slow. Yes, in testing things returned to zero.
