  1. I didn't find it. my wife found it for me. Said, I think you might like this site. She was right, as usual.LOL!! Terry
  2. I'm with Rene. Have basicly 2 RRA a semi custom 260 rem, and a new 308 Preditor. My 260 was a build, so some tinkering was involved. Not much. The Preditoe,,,shot right from the box. No failures of any kind. less than an inch with match ammo. Respectfully Terry
  3. I always liked the 383. good solid engine. Won't tear the motor mounts to shreads,. Respectfully Terry
  4. Got a 10/22 in the safe, haven't shot it in over 10 years. Had a 77/22 just could not get into it. Sold it years ago. Just bought a CZ 455 switch bbl. 22lr and a second bbl in 17HMR. Didn't want the HMR bbl, but couldn't find any 422 without the second bbl. I'v put about 40 rounds through it, just sighting it in. Forgot to say I put a Nikon 3-9/ 22 scope on it. Taking it out to the outdoor range tomorrow, to see what it does at 50 and 100 yards. Got a large varity of ammo to test!LOL!! Over the last year, I bought ANY 22 I could find, and as much as they would let me have. Thought about a Browing T-bolt, or a Kimber, don't really know why I diceded on the CZ. It looks and feels like a real rifle, and so far, I'm liking it. Respectfully Terry
  5. I use 6.5 Unique or 3,5 bullseye for The 45. Both with 200 grain lead . Respectfully Terry
  6. Looks GREAT!!! How's it shoot???? Respectfully Terry
  7. Welcome, I think? Terry
  8. Those white tips are Nosler accubond, a bullet ment for hunting. Of course they are expensive! Try some cheap Sierra 125's. @ $20 bucks for 100. Great plinking bullets. Respectfully Terry
  9. For those of you who don't know, All AA powders, except RL15, are temp sensitive. AA even says so in thier catlogue. I found out the hard way. Loaded the wife 100 rds of 6.5 Grendel. 50 rounds stayed in her Jeep, over the winter. The other 50 rounds stayed in the house. Spring shooting, and the loads from the Jeep had noticably less "bang". and less vel on the chrono! IMR powders, on the other hand, are NOT temp sesitive! Yea, thier stick, and don;t measure as easly, but accuracy and velocity stays the same for years! I built her a 270 Win when we were first married. Loaded 100 rounds of hunting ammo with 4350 and old style nosler partitions. She shot the last of them about 3 or 4 years ago. At 3 rounds a year, 100 rounds last a LONG time ( one to check the sights, one for a deer, and one for an elk). The point is, the last rounds shot the same as the first rounds, 20 years apart! Now, I know that not everbody lives in a place that can go from -30 degrees in the winter to almost 100 in the summer, but thats my personal experience. Respectfully Terry
  10. You can only hit as good as you can see. Personally, I put a Leapould 6.5-20 on my 260 Rem. I know several 1,000 yard shooters who use 50X scopes. Respectfully Terry
  11. BBL movement is NOT only up and down. If you could film in 3D, you'd find the bbl is actually moving in a sprial, as the bullet moves through the rifiling. As we have noticesd, "sweet spots" or :nodes" vary in different bbls. I'v tested free floting bbls, bedded, with no pressure bbls, bedded with upward pressure bbls, and floating with pressure bbls. There MUST be a reason that the benchrest crowd, for the great part, use floating bbls. I'v only been working with AR's for a short time, but have already taken several guns that would only shoot 2-4" groups, and by adding only a FF handguard, reduced the group size tremendously. I have yet to have it work in the reverse! Also, rember! we have a gas block, almost at the center of the bbl, that in, and of itself forms a "dampener". Another experment I plan to try, later this summer, is to machine several "dampeners" steel, aluminum, rubber, etc, and start with them at the muzzle, and move them back an inch at a time and see what happens, Respectfully Terry
  12. I have a felony arrest record. To show how bogus the charge was,,,,,,,,after the charge was dismissed, I was able to obtain, IN CALIF!!!, a concieled weapons permit, and a FFL. But, I still have an arrest record. and any leo running my background has access to it. Don't talk without a lawyer . Respectfully Terry

  14. Thanks, guys! I knew she was a keeper when she walked into my retail shop 33 years ago. Married 34 years, come the 4th of July! Terry
  15. So, this afternoon, the wife and I stop by the local dru,,,er, gun pusher,,,,,,er shop. Wife notices a new rack of AR's, both large and small. "Do you have any Rock River 308's, asks the wife, expecting a rebounding no. Ya, says the guy behind the counter, who turns around and picks up a rifle, He hands it to the wife ( He learned long ago, when SHE talks, he'd better listen to HER) Just came in a few minutes ago. I look over. Rock River LAR*, 308. tag says "Predtaor". Heavy, stainless steel 20" bbl. NM trigger. Retail price is 1,695. I wander over to look at the brass. In the 33 years we've been married, my wifes learned most of the tricks of "getting the deal". I walk back as they start the paper work. She turns to me and says, I got it for 1,450. Been looking on gunbroker, @1,400 plus dealer and shipping charges is about average. Come home, and she wants the Leaupold 3-9 Firedot scope on it. Hopefully, Range tomorrow, and pics. Respectfully Terry
  16. I was just thinking about this same thing! Never met a group so willing to help. Just the kind I'd like covering my six, if the poop hit the fan. Respectfully Terry
  17. Nothing! I spent all day running around town, chasing my tail! Terry
  18. 440 has a LOW draw temp! I'v seen the tempering totaly "burned" out of the blade just by over vigorous polishing. leaving a plain un-tempered blade. I'm not at my desk, but I thinl the "draw" temp is @400*. ATS 34 is over 800*. Respectfully Terry
  19. Sounds like gas port , to me. Respectfully Terry
  20. I'v seen more 300 Win Mags shot in 300 Wby's than I care to count! Best one was a guy who shot up 2 boxes of 7mm Rem mag in a 338 mag! Trying to get it sighted in. Worked OK at 25 yards, all over the place at 100.LOL!!!! Terry
  21. Star Machine Works, of San Diego, had all of this equipment!!!! They started makinfg reloading gear, including the famous Star reloader in the 1920's. This was state of the art, then! i questioned the manager in the 1970's when I went down to pick up a shipment, why they didn't go to newer more effecient equipment. He said these still hold tollerance, and are paid for! The shop was amazing, and quite loud! Respectfully Terry
