Howdy :)

Hi guys, Roger Wang (formerly of Battle Arms Dev.) here :)  As some of you might know, I had left BAD late Fall last year to start another company, Foward Controls Design.  The webpage isn't up yet, because I don't have enough pictures of production units to populate it.

If you haven't done so already, please like our new FB page https://www.facebook.com/forwardcontrols  There you can find the latest on products set to be released soon.

I look forward to being active here and elsewhere again.  Since my departure, I have kept a low profile.  I left BAD on good terms, it was time to move on.

See you guys here soon ;)

Thank you guys!  One of the most enjoyable aspects while I was at BAD was the friendship and camaraderie folks I never met in person had shown me.

While many of you know my name, my new company is almost a complete unknown.  This somewhat takes me back to where BAD started in 2009 (except nobody knew my name then either lol), which suits me just fine.  I do appreciate the support from friends and colleagues in the industry,  I still rely on superior product, quality, and unmatched customer support and warranty to carry me.

I hope to be of service to the community as I had been in my Battle Arms days :)

Yep phone numbers are the same (not the NV one, I was never there).  We did move from Malibu to Pacific Palisades into a bigger house, it's but 3 miles away :)

I will be doing the same things I was doing at BAD.  Initially, the product line may not have a lot of application on 7.62mm AR system.  The EMR (enhanced mag release button) wil work on either 5.56 or 7.62 of course, the LDFA (low drag forward assist) was designed for the AR15, and the ABC/R (Augmented Botl Catch/Release) was for the AR15 as well.

With modification, I'd like to bring the ABC/R to either AR10 or SR25 type systems.  As it stands, the ABC/R does not work on the AR10, not sure about the SR25 type receivers though.

If you guys find the EMR similar to what BAD makes, allow me to clarify.  That was my idea in 2011, and under the agreement and understanding, BAD is allowed to make a slightly different version, but not with the curved surface.  So the BAD EMR has a shallow V shaped depression, which from some angles, looks curved.

The version of EMR I make are curved as orginally concevied in 2011.  There will also be two versions, the EMR (milspec through hole), and EMR-C (taller profile, continuous serrations)

Side by side comparison with a factory bolt catch.  I kept most dimensions the same as factory specs, except for the top and bottom paddle, the notch above the bottom paddle, and the lightening cuts that keep the weight similar to the factory bolt catch (heavier by 0.013 oz)

Time to place the call and get some stuff going, Roger.  I'll do a headcount on the needed hardware and give you a ring.  <thumbsup>

Right off the bat, I'll need 16 EMRs.  Better make it 18, so I have a couple spares for the future.  LDFA will be the same count.  I need to see on the bolt catch/release - I've got the MagPul BAD lever on a couple rifles, that'll stay on those rifles.

Since I don't think I can spring for that much all at once, I'll have to cut the numbers down initially...   <lmao>

The ABC/R isn't designed to work with the Magpul BAD, because of the problems it can have I never considered it to be something I needed to make the ABC/R compatible with. The bolt catch spring was not designed to have extra weight and lever tacked on the bolt catch, that it can have problems is a foregone conclusion.

The ABC/R has lightening cuts to avoid the weight issue. It's not a lightweight component, its weight is similar to that of a factory unit (just 0.013 oz heavier).

The angled top paddle (10 degree on the upper 50%, 5 degree on the lower 50%) means for it to be compatible, the angled top paddle will have to be changed to the point it's almost straight, and thus giving up the advantages gained by an angled paddle, a concession I wasn't willing to make.

That's a little bit of insight on the bolt catch design :)
