The teams are BACK! PART 2

THE BUILD UP:

The "teams" C-130 was cruising towards the egress point at approximately 30,000 feet. No tails lights. No markings whatsoever. All of the team members were aboard. It was a bright (late October) night. The drone of the engines were all that could be heard...until the sound of bolt carrires started slapping home. Operatives all around the craft were "clearing weapons", and getting prepared to set them in the "cocked and locked" setting.

Edge (the team leader for this OP) stood up, and glared at the band of misanthropes that had banded together for this mission. He felt...secure. He felt...protected. He felt...that there was someone that would ultimately have his back if needed. He felt........GOOD. He knew that this was going to be a "different" kind of OP for this crowd. But he also knew, that this group would never let him down. His eyes glanced around the craft at each individual. He touched his earpiece as he heard Planeflyer say from the cockpit..."We're here". A calm, peaceful look came across his face. And then the rear ramp lowered down.

Moments later, he turned towards R2 and motioned with a chopping hand gesture. With nothing but a nod, R2 pulled his mask into place, walked towards the ramp, charged his .300 BLK SBR (SLAP)...and stepped off. Not a word was said.

Edge turned, and stared at the group of men. He keyed his mic and simply said..."We're ready gentlemen"! With that...Matt, Robo, 98, unforgiven and Stain stood, pulled their own masks down, and took there place beside the mission commander. All six of them stood on the ramp, and waited for the next "green light". It was only a matter of minutes before the next signal would be given. The "SLAP" of the BCG's was heard (along with the rushing wind effect) as Edge, Matt, 98, Unforgiven and Robo charged their rifles. Edge held his .300 suppressed SBR as if it was part of him. Matt clutched his .300 suppressed SBR waiting for the "go" signal. 98 and Unforgiven just stood there...emotionless. Robo was fingering a (suppressed) MK18 that he had said that he swiped from R2 fair and square (instead of the .300 BLK). The bastard! That was one of about 6 different weapons he had on him though. If nothing else......that fuker is always armed!

3 minutes later.............The green light was lit. With that, Matt stepped off first. After all, his primary objective was "security" for the team leader. So he was going in first. Moments later, both Robo and Edge yelled at the top of their lungs as they ran towards the end of the ramp. They both DOVE off of the back of the ramp. I'm not sure. But I believe that something to the tune of "I'M COMING MUTHA-FUKAS" was heard as they decended into the night sky. Seconds passed...as both Edge and Robo watched the C-130 melt away into the blackness of the surrounding sky behind them.

98 and unforgiven, stood there, masks in place...and simply counted to 30. Then...while saying nothing...they walked off of the ramp. They were also playing the part of....security. What else needs to be said?

It took a "good" 60 seconds or so...and then Stain pulled his mask into position, tugged on his weapons bag one more time (just to tighten it)...turned...and gave a devilish grin to everybody left on the plane...tucked his bag against him...and then stepped off of the ramp. He never said a word either. He disappeared into the night sky behind the plane.

THE PLAN:

Edge and Robo were the spearpoint of the extraction team. Matt, 98 and unforgiven running "security" to those two. Stain...was (shocker) overwatch. R2 was to be ground-based egress support. The idea...to keep the primary team small and nimble. The rest of the 308 AR company would provide support at the extraction point (or leading up to it).

THE EXECUTION:

Matt Hit the ground and rolled. He came to a kneeling position and slapped the chute release on his chest. He had already released his O2 mask (as per protocol) before he landed. It was only moments before he pulled his primary weapon up and began to scan the area in front of him. He was in position. The drop had gone pretty seamless for him. He fell into his position (approximately a 50 yard lateral left location).

Within a minute (or so), Edge and Robo both hit the ground not far from him. They both hit the ground...rolled...and came to a crouched (aggressive stance) position. Weapons forward, they both released their chutes, one at a time. Careful of the "bright full moon" that was lighting up the entire area. They then proceeded to move forward.

Moments passed............then 98 and unforgiven came down. Both hitting the ground and seamlessly rolling in opposite directions. They both silently moved off into their positions. With Unforgiven taking the (50 yard lateral right position), while 98 took up the "6" position of the two primaries.

Stain hit the ground approximately 800 yards from the other 5 team members. He hit the ground and rolled to a stop. Almost silently, he released his chute and started to crawl away. Moments passed as he assesed his situation. He looked around, his head seeming to be on a swivel. Once satisfied, he picked up and started moving to his primary location. He hadn't landed far from it. It had been a outstanding drop. His position..........a tall "bulge" in the local topography, wasn't far from his current position. Double-checking his GPS, he fell into place. He then proceeded to quietly zip open his bag to begin deploying his weapon. He slung his bipod out, and placed the rifle on the ground. Then, he snapped his glass onto the weapon....followed by the NV device in front of it. Finally, he screwed the suppressor onto the end of the muzzle. Then...he settled down behind the lens...and began to "Watch" the entire area.

R2 had hit the ground before the others (by design). Like Matt (following protocol), O2 mask was released prior to landing. He came stumbling to a stance, slapped the chute release on his chest, and proceeded forward. His primary MO was egress support. Meaning......he was in charge of finding and securing the "ride" for the rest of the team. He laughed to himself as he started off into the darkness. He had already had it planned out pretty well. As long as nothing got in his way.

Stay tuned boys..............................the mission continues!
