They wouldn't talk to anyone else there but me, they brought in the old part they needed to replace and I would find it for them. None of that schit was in the computer! I learned parts books back in the 70's when I was a mechanic (NOT a service tech!) at a Chevrolet dealership. The parts guys loved me because if they were busy I'd go behind the counter and look up my own parts instead of waiting and twiddling my thumbs. I worked on a commission, didn't have time to stand around!
