Thanks JT. I kind of like it skeletonized as it is though as I intend to wear it concealed and scales may thicken it a bit. I'm pretty sure it won't print under at least most of my every-day shirts if I wear it with a thin ball chain or paracord. EugeneStoner
I've been buying a few blades recently and finally got a Glock 81. This particular model has a saw-edged spine instead of a smooth one. Though these are inexpensive (I paid about $30) they have a ton of good reviews online and mine seems to be really solid. The blade came sharp and coated with plenty of lubricant. The sheath is good quality too and the knife snaps securely into it. The blade and overall length of the knife is a little longer than what I think is needed for field dressing Whitetails though. So, I probably won't carry it as my go-to hunting knife but will keep it in my rifle bag as a backup if I lose my (much smaller) primary hunting blade. I made it a little more emergency/zombie apocalypse-ready by adding some ball chain for optional neck carry and also getting a magnesium fire starter for it. jtallen83
Started to EDC this ESEE Izula about six weeks ago and have loved it. It fits in my pliers pocket just right, easy to grab but stays just out of site and in place, maybe a headstand would drop it out but don't see that happening anytime soon. Biggest benefit I have seen is the fixed blade, a truly beatable knife at .156" thick. At 6 1/4 inch overall with a 2 5/8" cutting edge it fits my agency restrictions on knife size for carry at work. This one has their black oxide finish, much better for everyday cutting tasks compared to the textured powder coating they offer. It is 1095 high carbon steel but I have not seen any rusting issues. It has a fresh stropping on it in the pictures but will quickly develop a patina on the exposed steel after some use. The handle scales are optional but for EDC a must have in my book. These scales are from The Knife Connection and made of G10. I still need to get a seal on them so I don't have to take them off for cleaning, for food use I don't want any grunge growing under the scales, I will be using some silicone under them to seal it up. I find the steel very easy to sharpen to a hair popping edge and it holds up very well, a great balance between ease of sharpening and edge retention. I'm an all in ESEE whore with no shame! 98Z5V
I wasn't poking at you, brother - just that jackass agent that wanted to be a stud in the club, gun pops out, he has no trigger discipline snatching it up, and shoots a patron in the leg... What a fuktard. Heard that nothing happened with that, he's clean on the whole thing... I caught the reference, though, and it made me laugh about that asshead... Amazing what federal employees can get away with since it is so hard to fire them, unless of course they get caught with a 3 inch blade! jtallen83
Picked up this ESEE Laser Strike used on the ESEE forum, doubt it ever cut much besides paper. Love the TKC G10 scales and there was a bonus Esee arrowhead inside with ferrocerium fire starting flint and tinder tabs, a well designed survival knife. Specs are; Overall Length: 10.0″ Cutting Edge Length: 4.5″ Overall Blade Length: 4.75″ Blade Width: 1.38″ Weight (Knife Only): 9.5 Ounces Maximum Thickness: .188″ 1095 Carbon Steel, 55 – 57 Rc. Blade Finish: Black Textured Powder Coat Removable Handles Bow Drill Divot In Handle Ambidextrous Black Kydex Sheath The wife kidnapped my other laser strike for her car so now we will have one in both vehicles. Odds are I will never use the knife for its intended purpose but if I do need it I know it is solid kit.

sketch
that is nice! add a flat blade tip in the sheeth so you can open the grips if needed? might fit in one of the grommet holes tight enough to turn a screw..

Small washer works good, attached to the sheath with some paracord. They ship with that from the factory.
Robocop1051
I almost bought a Tops BOB, and I would’ve been so pissed if I saw this after I bought that knife. Just now added to my shopping list.

jtallen83
Did a little work on an ESEE 3MIL to give as a birthday gift, my oldest Granddaughter's boyfriend of four years now. He liked hers when he saw it, since they will both be freshmen at Iowa so I etched his jersey number into it along with the factory marks then blued them. and of course stropped it to stupid cut yourself sharp. Filed the spine flat for some 90 degree spine action. Now if I could just find the Iowa gold color in grips it would be perfect.
Armed Eye Doc
That is a nice looking knife. I hope the kid earns it. He must be ok if you are giving it to him though. Edited June 15, 2019 by Armed Eye Doc
