There is a new utility knife in my kitchen........ok the wife's kitchen. She has decided the Mora 2000 was made for her. She has big problems in her hand with fingers that don't bend or only bend a certain way due to decades of rheumatoid arthritis. For her, knife selection was based on the grip she could get, this led to some pretty crappy steel in the drawer for years. Last year I got a used 2000 with an ESEE I had bought on ebay, tossed it in her drawer to see what happened. She used the crap out of it! It gets tossed in the dishwasher in basket of other utensils then resides in the silverware drawer where it gets shaken with the other larger utensils. I was getting an earful when she would go to get her knife and find out it was dirty in the sink. It was a little laborious getting it sharpened the first time but since then monthly strop sessions have kept a decent edge on it. The original will get some relief as I added another second hand find. I had it with me for a bit and was going to have her use the Kansbol model to see how it held up to life in the kitchen drawer but no go, the handle is "different" and won't work for her. So it's 2x2000 for the wife and I get the Kansbol, a good trade for me but I fear the end of the "you need a good kitchen knife" excuse I parrot when a new knife arrives in the mail.

Don't know why I bought this, it says ESEE and was twenty bucks, didn't ask myself for a second if I had a use for it. For the size it fits the hand amazingly well and in a few different grip methods. I can see it being a handy little tool at a well stocked camp. Mine will go in an Altoids tin with a ferro rod and tinder, taped shut, banded, and promptly lost somewhere under a car seat.

Tried pocket carry with this for a couple weeks, no go. Nice and small but that little magnet holds on to your keys and such then the knife gets drug off the "sheath" and hits the floor. In to the tin and under the seat it goes, can't stand things around my neck or I would try that.

Yesterday, I was lucky enough to acquire two new "blades" from @Magwa:hail:   VERY lucky!   I cannot tell you guys enough about how badass these are.  I haven't cut myself yet, but that's coming, I'm certain...  These are literally a work of art.  And SHARP AS FUK!!!

steel tiger fixed blade. hair popping out of the box. blade is robust to thin rippinng point. fits good in my mit. gloved hand fits in finger ring. sheeth is nice with good retention.

some cons sharpening is gonna be a challenge. grip is a tad thin and slick with sweaty hands. finger ring is not embedded metal just plastic.

This is a wicked tool for sure!! going back and rewatching doug marcadia vids from years back now that I have the knife finally.
