Dane Armory Posted July 27, 2014 Report Posted July 27, 2014 I sand blast so many guns it is just NOT funny anymore. But I do such good work ! There is a store Mesa that sells kits , they have 30 plus colors in stock.

Her BLK already got blasted down to bare metal a few months ago. She's been shooting it naked. It gets painted - finally - and she'll be happy. It's NOT any form of pink, however. You guys will be shocked when you see how it turns out. <thumbsup> Edited July 27, 2014 by 98Z5V

edgecrusher Posted July 27, 2014 Report Posted July 27, 2014 I'm going with burnt bronze...... No really, I may grab some, it's hot!
98Z5V Posted July 27, 2014 Author Report Posted July 27, 2014 (edited) Patriot Brown is pretty snazzy as well. SEXUAL CHOCOLATE!!! <lmao> I've got one rifle in particular that's gonna get the Patriot Brown treatment. The combination will come out something like this setup: Edited July 27, 2014 by 98Z5V
DNP Posted July 27, 2014 Report Posted July 27, 2014 Good news is, no oven needed. Paint them in the kitchen where you can get the air temp within range....then hang on the patio.

sketch Posted July 28, 2014 Report Posted July 28, 2014 I was thinking battle ship grey if I ever finish something! Maybe ad a little navy blue scale to it?
survivalshop Posted July 29, 2014 Report Posted July 29, 2014 Good news is, no oven needed. Paint them in the kitchen where you can get the air temp within range....then hang on the patio. I'm not painting anything in my kitchen , the wife would plug me . <laughs>
DNP Posted July 29, 2014 Report Posted July 29, 2014 Ok, maybe a window air conditioner in the loading shed. Gotta get the air temp low enough that the paint doesn't dry before it reaches the part.
98Z5V Posted July 29, 2014 Author Report Posted July 29, 2014 Ok, maybe a window air conditioner in the loading shed. Ironically, that's on my to-do list. Have the AC unit. The tragedy in this? It's too hot to get out there and put it in... <dontknow> <lmao>
shibiwan Posted July 30, 2014 Report Posted July 30, 2014 (edited) I'd paint it in the kitchen but Dawn would kill me....(she has insisted on this after the Honda Civic transmission rebuild I did on coffee table about 14 years ago). <laughs> <lmao> Ironically, that's on my to-do list. Have the AC unit. The tragedy in this? It's too hot to get out there and put it in... <dontknow> <lmao> You need to get a couple of rolling units like I have in my garage....perfect for blasting my a$$ with cold air while reloading. Something like this (I got the Sharp ones from Costco several years ago) Edited July 30, 2014 by shibiwan
DNP Posted August 4, 2014 Report Posted August 4, 2014 Says it'll be under 110 all week at your place. Hoping to see some paint soon.
98Z5V Posted August 4, 2014 Author Report Posted August 4, 2014 Should have a new paint gun sometime this week...
DNP Posted August 4, 2014 Report Posted August 4, 2014 Can't wait. I'm excited. I really want to paint mine, but still need some parts. Caught up in another landscaping project, putting on a golf tournament for our association, and I badly need to start the samurai project. I'd love for it to be rolling by Halloween....so, gun parts are pretty far down the list. For now, I have to watch you paint yours!
imschur Posted August 4, 2014 Report Posted August 4, 2014 Reading this thread reminds me of how much I missed you guys while I have been away slaving for the man...Im all set to Cerakote, just needs to start practicing on machine parts at the day job.
Madhouse Posted August 4, 2014 Report Posted August 4, 2014 Looking forward to seeing this, I still have some stripped pieces that I wouldn't mind coloring up.
