The brands we poop on in public

Hey guys!

So i have been looking at the cheap ar brands that i have never considered before, and in another thread i asked about one specifically, bear creek arsenal, and to my surprise quite a few people had their stuff kicking around!

Which made me think... what other stuff is lurking in yalls safes!? And what is your experience with it?

Like the-

Ati omni maxx

Radical firearms

Brownells brand

Foxtrot Mike

Tiger Rock

And the old standby's that people look down their nose at like-

Dpms

Anderson

Psa

Feel free to add any others!

Basically, what do you got, and what do you think? If its let you down, how?

Has anyone ran an ati omni through anything extensive?

Why do i now have the urge to take classes specifically with crap rifles!? Its like some masochist crap lol

They crush the AR15-based stuff. PSA does it well - but who doesn't?...  Anderson AR15 stuff is great - I think I have 3 or 4 or the Anderson lowers and uppers - I know I bought 3 Anderson lowers from @shibiwan at once, one purchase.  They meet the spec and get it done, just like the PSA AR15 stuff.  Any company can make AR15 stuff - the pattern is out there, the TDP is out there (hard to find the links to the published TDA anymore...).  Doesn't matter, though - buy an in-spec lower and upper from a reputable company, CNC scan it - BAM!  You're in the AR15 game now!

Not so with the .308AR.  WAY not so.  PSA is proving that all by themselves, too.  As they are the biggest sponsor on this board now, how long will it be before they start bitching about my posts about them, and "I start feeling the pressure?..."  I won't stop, guarantee you that - until they REALLY fix their .308AR platform...  PSA PA-10 - needs WORK.  ALOT of work...

Does Del-Ton make the cut for a company that gets no respect? My 16" true dissipator upper from them runs without fail! 2 classes, with the first time surprising the instructor....he figured it was a normal carbine setup during his "dick stick" failure inducing portion.  The guy ended up pushing me sideways with his stick on my boltcarrier to induce failures....🤣    The guy got frustrated before i told him what i was running. 😎

+  or 5 for Anderson lowers.  I've got at least half a dozen AR-15 builds using them.  Fit and finish is excellent, hard to bitch about the price either.

When I first got into AR-15 builds I used Rock River exclusively.

At that time they were abundant and not overly expensive but more than most others.  As the "black rifle" craze grew more and more varieties were showing up at the gun shows and becoming available at local gun stores so I ventured around a little.

Rock River lowers slowly became not only more expensive but not readily available.  You'd walk thru an entire gun show and lucky to find one.  So I moved to DPMS and then more recently to Anderson.

In between all that I tried several cheap ones, including a plastic variety, and wasn't overly impressed with them.  At one point early on I wondered if there were really any differences in all the different brand names wondering if I was just wasting a bunch of money buying the higher end stuff.  My answer to all that is that every single lower I ever bought, from bottom of the pile to the high end resulted in a perfectly functioning weapon when finished.  Never had any issues with any of them after they were completed and really not a lot of problems during the builds, or no show stoppers or major problems to overcome to get a good finished product.

Even with that said, I very quickly found out that IF you are selling one that buyers will very quickly throw more money quicker at the better name brands.

Build an AR using a Patriot (for example) lower and put it next to a Rock River.  Install the exact same uppers.  Price them both the same.   You'll sell 200 Rock Rivers and the Patriot will still be sitting there!.......Cliff

Its awesome seeing positive reviews on brands that i had considered inferior- many of which are superior to the brand that i went with!

I want to build 3 identical rifles on Tennessee Arms Co lowers. This is the first. Its a Bear Creek Arsenal gi upper with magpul moe guard, arms buis, and a Sig romeo 5. I cant wait to do these classes! I just bought 1k of ammo off a buddy too!
