I promise I'll work on improving my photo skills. That's a quick snap w/ the phone and things got resized and cropped.  Can't let the wife seeing me taking porn pics.  Then she'd might realize there is a new black gun in the house!

Those 180 gr soft points may not have grouped well because the soft points tend to deform on the feed ramps. FMJ or polymer tipped rounds seem to do a lot better in these guns than soft points.

2nd trip to range with new Windham was a mixed bag.  Mostly positive. Another 100 rounds. Zero malfunctions. Upgraded trigger - LaRue MST 2 stage - big improvement, very nice trigger. Precision Armament Severe Duty - muzzle brake - works as advertised. Daniel Defense enhanced stock - meh. Felt a bit short so will switch out butt pads w/ thicker one (shown in photo) that came with it for next time. Groups were not near as tight at 100 yards as 1st trip. 2-3 MOA. Not sure if it was Serbian ammo, wind or just me.  Rifle has already shown it is capable of better. Plan to take some 1st class ammo with me the next time and the shooting sled or bipod to really dial it in.  Still plenty of time before hunting season.WW02102022.thumb.jpg.acee49074b01c4a6af6cea31667150be.jpg

Yes.  Primary purpose is for hunting deer and I'd like to try hogs. Secondarily, to keep Zombies in check.  Mainly hunt in SC and VA.  Some pigs reported in SC area, but I've never seen them while hunting. VA is land where I grew up and I'm pretty comfortable walking around there in pitch black.  I did get an adapter for a small 1600 lumen Fenix light I have https://www.fenix-store.com/fenix-alg-00-flashlight-ring/  but I've never messed with the adapter.  Mainly use the light to find dog poop in the leaves in the dark and small springs and pins that I always drop.  I think the adapter is basically for a picatinny rail and I think I'd want to mount it beneath the barrel.  Not sure what would be a good light option for an AR w/ an MLOK hand-guard.

This sight makes me spend $ like no other.  Just popped for some various MLOK/Picatinny pieces so I can mount the flashlight. $20 here, $200 there, next thing you know you've got a $2000 project and need to go to the range (in the dark!)

Neat little flashlight holder from Fenix. Mounts onto a picatinny. Squeeze latch to mount or remove without any tools.
Son-in-law whose is in LE got me onto the Fenix USB-C rechargeable flashlights.  The mount is about a $15-20 accessory as I recall. Lots of coupon codes floating around for the company. F3E44CC2-D81B-4F85-A333-2B2C1FCC02EE.thumb.jpeg.26c494b5553051437648c6fe4ebcffa9.jpegB8475DE2-994E-4757-9A97-BA7803CD87EE.thumb.jpeg.6748507f99e4a388653275a961e148ab.jpeg

@Black_Sheep, that's a very solid build list, man.  Very well done.

Thanks, I mix it up a little with different furniture and barrel lengths, but the foundation of the gun has kind of become my default build. Pretty boring, but it works...

Boring - and working - are good things.
