We were in the low 60's rainy and foggy on Tuesday. Back in the 20's today. Typical DC temperature swings. You never know what you're gonna get. I blame Congress. :lmao:

Read the memo you're supposed to blame climate change and then blame Trump for personally causing climate change :bitchslap:

That’s the one nice thing! It’s dry as a popcorn fart here! I’d take a dry 15° over a damp 30° any day!!!

I hear ya, today was a topside day in the rain and mud, it's bad when you're wearing rubber boots cause 8" high workboots will not cut it.

Wet feet are the worst then it's cold and clammy from perspiration. The the things you do to earn a living

A few days ago we had snow, actually the 3rd small snowstorm but it was starting to accumulate so I decided to plow it. Backing up a bit... When we started to get snow the ground still wasn't frozen. If I plow on unfrozen ground the snowplow will tear up the lawn and make one heck of a mess. So I didn't plow the 1st 2 storms. But we'd had some cold weather and I had my fingers crossed that it was frozen. Some places were and some weren't. Yeah, I made a mess that'll need to get fixed in the spring. Then we got a few inches of warm rain and most of the snow is gone. Now it's been cold for the last few days and the ground has to be frozen by now! No snow in the foreseeable forecast. But it'll get here again eventually. Shooting is definitely done until spring.

Christmas Day - overcast, 44 degree high temp - no forecasted rain.  The KC area is fortunate compared to the rain parts of TX is getting and the storms happening in the PNW.  A bland day and I'll take it.

Merry Christmas to all!!  [except the evil ones in DC]

Clear and 24 right now, but the weather people are screaming about a winter storm that will basically end life here in the Midwest.  [if you watch The Weather Channel] Freezing rain / ice first, then up to 12" of snow.  Around here that usually means 2-4 days without power if we get an ice storm.  I have a large generator and a transfer panel for the house, but the thing weighs 250lb and even with wheels, it's a chore for the old body to move around.  Fingers crossed that we dodge a bullet this time.

Oh my GOD! Keep us in your hearts fellas. We're experiencing blizzard conditions here in the DC area tonight. I think they're already talking about canceling schools on Monday because of the fallout. Milk and toilet paper for everybody STAT!

If you know anything about the DC area.....then you know.WhiteOutConditions.thumb.jpg.5e4896f05a60f7b2dfdcbcf45566bbe1.jpg

...and so it begins.  It's been overcast and cold all day, with the winter storm warnings hanging over our heads, but at around 4pm it started....RAINING.  How do we get rain when it's 25 damn degrees?  The metro area salt trucks can't keep up.  I went to pick up a pizza and our neighborhood streets were OK, but one of the main roads was a sheet of glass.  I learned that the X-Mode in my Subaru Crosstrek really does have some serious value.  Not perfect on ice, but I wasn't doing 360's like a couple of jeeps I saw.  Damn.

The rain is supposed to stop soon, and then tonight into tomorrow: 5-7" of snow.  That's the National Weather Service, who I tend to trust the most.  The stupid AccuWeather on my iPhone says 15-17" of snow.  Either way is sucks.  Glad I don't HAVE to be any place.

Then on Monday going into the middle of next week - single digits to negative 2 possible.  The schools are supposed to resume from Christmas break Monday.  We'll see.

That's not Arctic, brother.  But -50* is Arctic.  It's not even "cold" in Alaska right now, compared to past years.  I'm just sayin'...   -15* at Fort Wainwright.  That place is usually -50* right now, through March.
