Radioactive
I only have 3 🙁 top to bottom Springfield operator long slide 10mm- sweet shooter, kinda big to carry and haven’t found a holster yet. I have used a Yaqui slide with success but the draw is long as poop Kimber eclipse custom II - shoots good, kinda finicky on cheap plinking ammo but eats self defense stuff. This I carry if carrying 1911. Puts holes in my shirts, this thing is sharp edged and needs dehorned. Colt rail gun - best shooter I have. I love this thing and is what I let people shoot to experience the 1911 trigger. Series 80 safety removed, grip safety pinned, ambi thumb safety changed to single side. I don’t carry it often due to safeties because I figure if something goes south they’ll take it and want to know why the safeties are missing. I like that every one of those are in proper carry-configuration, for a 1911 - chambered, hammer cocked, safety on. You're one down-click with your draw thumb away from instant single-action Perfection. Edited January 12, 2020 by 98Z5V

That's the condition that a 1911 needs to be in, all the time.

98Z5V
Holy Shiit, my Kimber Desert Warrior is famous! @DNP pointed this out to me tonight. Joe Perkins made my custom grips, and I never knew it's on his website. That's badass. I had these made in 2011 or 2012 - whenever the second trip out here was, that I met up with @edgecrusher - on his second trip out that we linked up on, I went to Tombstone with him and fam, and Big Mike, for a Cowboy Action Shoot. That's when Greg peer-pressured the fuk outta me to get this piece of wood from Joe Perkins, and make it into grips for this gun... That's the pic from his website - it's right here, just scroll down to number 169 in this gallery... https://classicsingleaction.com/gallery?start=40 Awesome find, Dirk!!! I just picked that block of wood because it looked badass - well, actually Greg picked it for me... I click over to Joe's main page, and he's got info on his "Rare and Unique" woods, and the damn Amboyna Burl is the third one down his list. It didn't cost me this much a decade ago, but I still think it was around (or a little over) $150. Pretty damn cool. https://classicsingleaction.com/rare-woods

Albroswift
Just finished up a 1911A1, Advanced Tactical 80% CS frame, Sarco "If you want cheap, we got cheap" build kit. Lots of fitting. Only thing I didn't use out of the kit was the sear spring, just couldn't do it... Need to find a slide stop not so shiny, other then that not bad for a $400.00 build

Albroswift
If I keep building AR's I would need yet another safe, 1911's are a bit harder to build but I can keep squeezing them in until maximum densityis achived. This is the one that got me started, helping a bro do his bobtail commander. He used the matrix jig and a complete kit from 1911 builders. Very complete, high quality parts, slide nicer then the one on my my E-Series Smith, very minor fitting required. I keep telling him to shorten up the dust cover, but he refuses.
