Hot, humid, very uncomfortable and going to get worse. Staying in the A/C and out of it, even to the point of allowing it to affect my shooting schedule. That last is the pits.

Hit 100 at work yesterday and will again today. Humidity not bad at like 35 percent, after today weather wizards forecast low 90’s. 
The fire danger is the worst part of this heat.

78* and sunny today in northern WI.   High 70s to low 80s for the next week or so and we finally put two days together without rain in the last 6 weeks.  Come on up the weather is fine!

Been hot here, but it's AZ, and it's July now, so to be expected.  We busted 118* twice in a week, and had alot of 115*s in there, too.  Part of the territory.  It's as hot as Satan's A$shole.

Finally checking back in, lost internet services for 3 days, lost power for over 4 days.  Helped a few folks out where I could, it was just a frustrating time.

 

Preparedness - I have a 12,500 W backup generator in my workshop, 80' away from the house.  The exhaust is plumbed through the wall so I can close the entry and double doors for quiet and let it eat.  100' of 50 amp cord running to power the whole house (aside from the 5+ ton a/c).  Window units keep the essential rooms cool.  That ran for 98 hours.  Next best thing would be a whole home natural gas unit, but this gets us by.  Sometime before retirement I'll get the big dog installed.

Hot, humid, with lotsa rain. We've been staying in the A/C or trying to. From the A/C at home into the A/C in the car. Out of the car and into the A/C in the store or wherever. 

I have gone to the range 3x in this heat but I'm ready to pack it up in 2 hours and, you guessed it, get back into the A/C.

Working over the weekend again. Changing out rooftop AC units. Hopefully the last for a while. They had to reschedule for this one. Didn't bring enough crane for it last time.

Hot, thunder storms in the afternoon almost all week. Power was knocked out for 8 hours Wednesday.  Found out the idiots that installed the Kohler generator put it to close to the house. After running about 3 hours the carbon monoxide detector started going off.

Good to find out problem when it wasn't 15 below 0.

That's the pits about the genny. When we lose our power for an extended time we always seem to lose a few because they decided to run their portable generator inside. They'd get Darwin awards except they're generally old, have already bred and are out of breeding age. 

Do you see -15 in KY outside of a freezer?

For us (Maine) more hot humid weather but the forecast is for a break in the weather for next week with lower humidity and temps in the 70s. Fingers crossed.

hit 108 yesterday the Gwen fire is all but done now just keeping all fire fighting stuff ready for next thunderstorm... I built this unit on a trailer a few years back we have these water totes stashed all over around where I live each one holds 275 gallons

Only 97° up north of you Friday, supposed to get cloudy I hope there’s no lightning in it. Have had some smoke haze but not that bad at all yet this year.

The last time the power was out for an extended period of time it was 10 deg below 0. The dumba$$ that did the installation did not inspire confidence. 

They need to move the gen set or pipe the exhaust away from the house.

Thanks. I never would have thought KY saw those temps. Are most Kentuckyans ready for that with winterized cars and such? Sorry for the curiosity but I'm amazed at those temps in a place I never expected them. I'm in Maine and we know to expect it.  I actually prefer our dry -20 than 85 with humidity.

It doesn't usually get that cold. Most winters it gets into the teens a few times. Single digits overnight occasionally but mostly the lows are in the 20's.
