We’re solo this year, just the Mrs., the boys and myself breaking in the new kitchen. Hopefully Gas and Electric leaves the power on. They’ve been threatening a shutoff all week due to dry weather and high wind. At least let us finish cooking the bird.

It was American Thanksgiving that gave me my first introduction to deep fried turkey Canadian retail has started promoting Black Friday sales which isn't a bad thing. There are several Americans on the project I'm on( joint venture Canadian/USA company) they were a bit surprised that Canadian Thanksgiving isn't as big a deal as American Thanksgiving. Ours is a 3 day weekend in Oct.

Ours is a 3 day weekend in Oct. We would wrap up at noon on Wednesday and I would take Friday for a long weekend. Never worked Thanksgiving, wife was a nurse so we wouldn't always eat on the holiday.

Managed to eat one plate of food before I passed out. Woke up on the couch to an empty dark house. Ate some pie. Ate some more pie with coffee and Advil this morning. Basically, a perfect turkey day 😄
