DNP Posted April 19, 2016 Report Posted April 19, 2016 So sorry for you. Our old girl turned 10 this month and I don't really look forward to that day.
EasyEJL Posted April 19, 2016 Report Posted April 19, 2016 :( my old man turns 16 in june, it won't be long before I have to deal with it as well, and i'm not sure how i'm going to.

Condolences for your loss. Watched my first pup get run over when I was 5 or 6 & I've never been one to let myself get too attached to pets since. I am very kind to all pets I meet, I just don't have many at home. Coyotes got the last one.
NTXshooter Posted April 19, 2016 Report Posted April 19, 2016 That's tough. Losing one of the family. Just know she's running around like a young pup in doggy heaven now.
jtallen83 Posted April 19, 2016 Report Posted April 19, 2016 Sorry for your loss, one of the tougher choices to make even when you know you have to.
EngrBob Posted April 20, 2016 Report Posted April 20, 2016 Sorry for your loss. Our older guy will be 15, close to being both blind and deaf, and will be heartbreaking to lose so we feel your pain.
bubbas4570 Posted April 20, 2016 Report Posted April 20, 2016 Sorry for your loss SS. Know that feeling all too well myself, have had many of mine put down, and currently have our Great Dane coming to that point all too quickly.
392heminut Posted April 20, 2016 Report Posted April 20, 2016 Sorry for your loss brother! I had to put down my old shar pei a couple of years ago. I sat around and cried the rest of the day.
Rsquared Posted April 21, 2016 Report Posted April 21, 2016 (edited) Well I'm not an animal guy SS (Hell....I don't like most 2 leggers more or less 4 leggers), but I understand how guys can get attached to their pets. A good pet can be more loyal that just about any other human can ever be. So I get it. Stay tough brother (as we all know you are). Edited April 21, 2016 by Rsquared
sketch Posted April 21, 2016 Report Posted April 21, 2016 I have my first tatted on my back. He was 5. 195# Rottweiler "KOS" that big basterd pulled me over a coffee table at 6 mo. old! My boy! Well meet again!
Boog Posted April 21, 2016 Report Posted April 21, 2016 Tis indeed a sad day, we pet lovers face this decade after decade yet we never give up. I wish you peace in this time of sorrow and a good memory of all your fun times with her.
Magwa Posted April 21, 2016 Report Posted April 21, 2016 Been there many times that is the one flaw in dogs they just don't live long enough sorry about your old friend ....
survivalshop Posted April 21, 2016 Author Report Posted April 21, 2016 She is also missed by her younger friend . r
DNP Posted April 21, 2016 Report Posted April 21, 2016 Yep. It was the same way here. When we had to put the oldest one down a couple years ago there was a void left and it was noticeable in the (slightly) younger pup. What was interesting was that the young one started displaying habits of the older one soon after. It gets easier for everyone. We still think about her all the time and we are constantly reminded of the fun we had. It's a shame dogs don't live as long as humans. When you get a good one, it would be nice to have them with you through the end.
survivalshop Posted April 21, 2016 Author Report Posted April 21, 2016 Read about a dog that passed the other day , was thirty years old , lived on a farm all his life . That's just crazy unheard of.
