I've got the 5x20 model. I finally received (after what seemed like forever) the laser range finder for this bitch (1500 meter version). Still haven't done anything with it yet because of: (A) - laziness (2) - fukin work. Plus. I've still gotta re-work that battery pouch so that it doesn't block the charging handle. So.......still a work in progress. Maybe my gun pusher was right? Maybe I just put this whole setup together to prove that it doesn't work? EugeneStoner Posted March 5, 2019 Report Share Posted March 5, 2019 (edited) Mossberg MVP Scout, it's a .308 Win bolt rifle that's external mag fed and compatible with my AR10s' SR25/M110/AR10 mags (and of less interest to me, M1A mags). I'm going for the iron-sights only model instead of the combo with the Vortex Scout scope as I'm not sure I would like the forward-mounted optic that is traditionally used on this type of rifle. Can add a scope, including a Scout or more traditional/non-Scout type option later if I like. I didn't go that route on my .308, and did the Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle, but I liked that one so much that I did pick up the MVP Scout in 5.56 - topped it with a conventionally-mounted fixed 3x Nikon BDC scope, and it's one hell of a little light rifle. It's fantastic - after that Ruger GSR, I was on the hunt for a 5.56 bolt that takes AR mags... lo and behold, Mossberg dropped the MVP, and the first ones were in 5.56. They didn't announce the .308s until later. Great guns, the MVPs. Somewhere on this board, there's a pic of my 5.56 MVP with a SureFire 60 in it. Just because... I found a couple pics of it, but I can't find the damn thread on it - you'll like it. Here's it's little brother...
