Guys, you have probably noticed I haven't been too active here lately, been preoccupied with caring for my 90 year old mother (she was in and out of the hospital for several a few month last year - finally got her home early last December) the Wednesday before last she developed a urinary infection and was on some strong antibiotics however last Tuesday her condition worsened and I had to bring her to the ER. Unfortunately  things got out of hand and resulting in her kidneys shutting down, pneumonia developing in her lungs and her heart becoming overworked due to the hypertension and high CO2/ low PH in her blood - she was on a BIPAP and had two sessions of Dialysis but it was too little too late and my sister and I had no choice but to let her go to join my father who passed 10 years ago ironically when I was in Taiwan for work - this was the most difficult thing I've ever had to do and I will always cherish the time I was able to spend with her  - this is going to be tough to get used to and it hasn't really hit yet. I know I haven't been around here as long as a lot of you guys but I still see you guys as my extended family and just wanted to let know that I appreciate being a part of this great group!

Thanks, Always Faithful

Sorry for your loss, brother -almost the exact same thing happened to my aunt in 2010.  She was very close to us, as she had no kids - we were like the only kids she had.  Sad times.

God Speed to her, and you as well.

Sorry for your loss chris lost my grandpa of about the same age a month ago in a similar way. Their suffering is now over and they're now in a better place. Sounds like she lived a long great life loved by you and others it's hard but it's the one thing none of us will ever beat.

Sorry for your loss brother. It's never an easy thing to lose a loved one. I lost my sister to a similar situation a year and a half ago. Your  mom was blessed though to have a son who loved and cared for her like you did. Our prayers are with you.

Very sorry to hear it. Watched my parents go through it with their folks, and not looking forward to the day it's my turn. My dad was talking about my grandfather just the other day.  We lost him 20 years ago last week at the young age of 65....and it seems like only yesterday. He's been with us all along and the good memories stay with us always.  We'll keep you in our thoughts and pray your sadness lifts swiftly.

It has been three years since we lost my mother at 93 so I know your pain and you have our prayers that you will remember the good times and forget those that brought stress.

I am truly sorry for your loss, Chris.

I also have some insight on what you are going through,  as my father passed on 05Dec16 from approximately the same thing.

Prayers will be sent for you.

Prays are with you. I went through this last year with my mother. Going through the Hospis time was the real hell.

This doesn't much help, but it will get better with time. Just remembering the better times is best.

Sorry for your loss brother! Even at 90 years old you still feel like you needed more time, it is never easy. I lost my mother to COPD at the age of 68 and lost my dad at the age of 42 due to an accident.I still feel the loss of both of them. I try to do what I can to be around as long as I can for my kids.

Want to thank all you guys for your kind support and prayers, Mom was a one in a million mom and also a Daughter of the American Revolution - a loyal and dedicated wife to my father (who was a Marine in WWII fighting for our freedom in the pacific - Saipan - Tinian - Iwo Jima) always stood by him and did a wonderful job raising my sister and I instilling ethics, morals, standards and the sense of responsibility that many young people these days don't get.

So  thanks again guys, your support is so greatly appreciated
