You have to be crazy.  Where are you finding the components to even think about this endeavor?...  :bitchslap::popcorn:

I am a patient man.  I have a couple thousand empty shells that need something to make them feel whole again.  Some day I will find the other parts I need.  Dvor has the bullets.  I would need primers and powder to have all I need except time and experience. :lmao:

Despite  MIA @Belt Fed & his  temporarily depleted funds, I've got another Arken SH4 Gen ll 6-24×50mm mil scope on it's way. Discount code "save30%" got me the scope, mount, caps, bubble level & magnification lever out the door for $444.64.

Gotta use coupons when forced to spend MY $$$$!😡 How humiliating 😞

Be advised, not AR10.

Ordered a Volquartsen carbon fiber barrel and fore-end for my 10/22 Charger SBR today. The accuracy of the finished SBR was depressing. It wasn't horrible, but for me only accurate guns are interesting and I didn't consider it accurate. My build met the goal I had for it, the smallest rifle I could build. But better accuracy would have been nice. I do use it for Steel Challenge and it's great for that. Hopefully this barrel with pic' rail attached to the barrel will do what I want. I'll know in 3-6 weeks since everyone is out of stock. I'll need to attach a 3 lug quick attach adapter (HK?) then it's done. Anyway, it's a standard 3 lug adapter whatever it's called. I might even have a spare in parts. I need to check.

Initially I wasn't going to order the new barrel due to the $. But someone convinced me. I want to be happy with what I built. Yes, it'll make the take down SBR quite a bit larger (longer) when in pieces. See far below. The pistol grip folds today, that's an old picture.

Arken #3 got here Friday & went on the Mossberg AR15. Rough sighted it in Sunday @100yd.

Just me, brother - but I'm a big fan of getting that scope level out front, and not behind.  Try it - you have room up there to push it forward.  Getting it forward doesn't fuk you up as bad, when you're acquiring it with your off-eye.  Just what I've seen.

That scope is WAY back, too.  I like the eyepiece about at the end of the upper receiver.  You have to have a hellish Length Of Pull on the stock, for proper eye relief. Again, just my $0.02 on it.

I've been playing with locations.  Originally had level in front of turret, didn't like that  much or maybe didn't give it a chance . Are you recommending right behind the turret?

Exactly my thoughts at 1st.  Remember these scopes dont have quite the eye relief of a Leupold.

That stock is looong with the THICK, 1" IIRC,  recoil pad I added. It could  move forward another 1/2" with the current stock.

More than likely I'm going to end up installing the 20moa 1 piece 1.5" mount I have. That'll move It forward  further & means I'll need to replace the stock also to get a higher cheek weld. (Luth or PRS3)

On my AR10 PIC below , you can see  it sits back a little further than normal (not near as far though) .

Definitely not.  Get that level out front - it's like getting a red dot as far forward as you can get it - you pick it up faster like that, and small gun movements don't affect it as much, in your vision.

Scope levels:

Get that level out there.

As far as scope placement - the further back you havae it, the further you have to fuk with your body position behind the gun, in order to get proper eye relief - on most modern scopes.  With the end of the eye piece equal to the end of the upper receiver, you don't have to manipulate your body into some fucking mannequin-contortion scheme, just to see through the scope.  Unless you're an 8ft Yeti.  With Giant fucking arms, and a UGE head.  I set all my scopes up at the end of the upper receiver, and then fine tune position after that - based on real eye relief on the scope.  Most end up like this:

Just hints on scope placement.  Not 3ft back.  I'm just sayin'.  You'll be a better marksman, if your scope isn't in your collar bone, and placed at about the end of the upper receiver.  This is tried and true, and bonified info, for all the ages to come.

Thanks for the info 👍.  Scope does need to go forward for sure.

I'm going to get the level up front as you suggested. Never used them before so shouldn't be difficult to adapt to.

Yes, it does.  For sure.  You can trust me, or not.  That scope back in your collar bone is only fucking you over.  Take that for what it's worth, I been doing this for a minute.

Tracking says that a case of 12ga buckshot, 100rnds of Hornady match 6.5 Creedmoor, 400 rnds of 300 Black Out should all be delivered tomorrow.

Rural King had Hornady Black 6.5 Grendel ELD on the shelf for $21.99.

They only let me get 5 box's. I'll get the other 5 on the way to work tomorrow.

That looks like it I had a knockoff set of the $500 sights I wanted. Let me know how they look…I’ll have to find those.
