Dystopian has taken on new meaning these days. I’m in a hospital waiting room listening to Ted Nugent Free For All, a record that as a kid I was supposed to bring to a church event so they could burn the evil stuff. The Puppy Bowl on a Sunday afternoon was hosted by a convicted felon and a dope promoting pornographer. Dystopian........

Hospital waiting room? Nothing serious I hope.

It’s not that bad, but you can burn 2 gallons or more per hour to run it. @2.79/gal here that can add up. 6 gallons of gas last 12 hours or better for me, but that’s still $24-$25 of fuel.

With sleepy, sloppy old Joe at the helm you ain't seen nothing yet on gasoline and propane prices, and he may just be an excuse to raise prices. I bought 100 gallons of propane yesterday cost $2.60 and in December 2020 it was $2.00 a gallon, but I didn't have room in the tank back in Dec. 2020, I did now because of the 0 degree weather last week, Propane company won't deliver less than 100 gallons.

Signed up for my 500 gallon tank this week. Installed the gas line to the house today. We get a locked in $1.99/gal for a little while as a promo, but yes...I expect to see high fuel prices for the next few years. Hopefully that will give us something to hammer home again with the next run for office.

That happened here a few years ago when it was -10 for a week. Plus there was a shortage, it was a complete shit show

If you are leasing your tank, consider buying one as soon as possible. I bought a 500 gallon one 6 years ago and a 1000 gallon one 4 years ago. That way I am not locked into the tank leaser. That saves me an average of 25 cents per gallon right off the top. I joined a local group buy club and we competitively bid for the lowest price, which brings it down even more. With the capacity I have, I fill them in June or July when the price is lowest. This last year I paid 89 cents a gallon. Topped them off at $1.29 a gallon in November, and it is now at 2.39 / gallon. I calculated these tanks have already paid for themselves twice over. You are warmer weather then I have, but you might want to check it out.

Damn, that's a messed up thing to do to a Model A!

It’s probably been like that for 70 years, they would convert them, I’ve seen a lot of old b&w photos like that

here’s an example

@Rsquared, Susan and I have made 40th anniversary plans in 2029-30.  That should give them time to get the bugs out.  Are you in?  I wonder if we can have a spring shoot up there?

It's probably as close to Star Trek as we'll get.

I'm all in for this.

I've read about this outfit before. Sounds pretty interesting actually. What I need to do, is to get a job with this group. My line of work is right in line with kind of thing.

I'd be down for working in orbit full time. A lot less people to deal with. :lmao:

Albrecht Moser has raced Waffenlauf since the 70s.

The traditional Waffenlauf is a 43K( 26 miles) long race. With a ruck that weighs no less than 13.6-pounds and includes either a standard Swiss Army Stgw 90 (SIG 550), Stgw 57 (SIG SG 510) or old school WWII-era K.31 bolt action rifle.

As of 2019, 10 Waffenläufe are taking place, with distances of 10 to 42 km (6 to 26 mi).
