I marinaded these in Bachan’s over night, put them on at 200 till they hit 120° foiled them turned up to 500° and seared each side for 5-8 min, let them rest and sliced. Honestly they woulda been good with just SPG too
Sisco Posted September 12, 2022 Report Posted September 12, 2022 (edited) Tried a different fish fry batter tonight. Supposedly Long John Silver's restaurants recipe. Did my traditional one and the new one. Liked them both though each is different. Silvers is at the top of the pic. Edited September 12, 2022 by Sisco
DNP Posted October 4, 2022 Report Posted October 4, 2022 Ran over the neighbors cow again on the way home eh? good score. We don’t get to slaughter our steer til January. Butchers are way out for scheduling.

suzukiray Posted October 5, 2022 Report Posted October 5, 2022 This just seemed like the best thread to show this one.
Armed Eye Doc Posted October 5, 2022 Report Posted October 5, 2022 Dinnertime isn't until the brisket gets done.

shooterrex Posted October 6, 2022 Report Posted October 6, 2022 Lots of future grilling. View from the front porch.

DNP Posted October 15, 2022 Report Posted October 15, 2022 Won this raffle prize at a golf tournament today. Anyone use a propane smoker?

I have had one for several years. It is where I made the pulled pork that I bring to AZ. The only drawback on the one I have is that you have to add wood chips every half hour or so. I liked it enough to buy a replacement when it wore out even though I have a pellet grill.
DNP Posted October 15, 2022 Report Posted October 15, 2022 That’s endorsement enough right there. I’ll unpack it. I figured I’d ask around before unboxing it. Couldn’t decide if I’d keep it or find somewhere else to trade it off. I almost traded it at the event for a couple of really nice camp chairs.
mrmackc Posted October 15, 2022 Report Posted October 15, 2022 (edited) Good reviews on AMAZON and is $234 ! Edited October 15, 2022 by mrmackc
Armed Eye Doc Posted October 15, 2022 Report Posted October 15, 2022 It is nice to not need electricity to cook.

Demand is crazy. After I was told this I went out and found 3 slabs of Prime New York Strips for $7.99/pound -24 2-inch steaks total after cutting and trimming. Got them in food saver bags and in the freezer, and a day later my above butcher calls and says “Your side is ready for pick up” Say what? “ You told me nine months!” “Didn’t she call you? We found a nice steer, and put you down for half.” 😳With meatflation rampant, I decided to take it. I know the source and he raises excellent beef. So looks like I am set for two years or so. Price did go up to $4 a pound, butchered, wrapped and frozen.

sketch Posted October 17, 2022 Report Posted October 17, 2022 Did a banger of a bday smoke with 3 flavors : spicey pork , BBQ pork. And beef BBQ. I almost didn't need the smoke here due to wild fires but the flavors were great and the meat was tender! Love grilling ribs! 🍻🍻 and some corn whiskey form the kid!
